The effect of ethnicity on the age-related changes of spinopelvic characteristics: a systematic review.

Spinopelvic characteristics influence the hip's biomechanical behaviour. However, to date there is little knowledge defining what 'normal' spinopelvic characteristics are. This study aims to determine how static spinopelvic characteristics change with age and ethnicity among asymptomatic, healthy individuals.

Criteria Used to Determine Unrestricted Return to Activity After ACL Reconstruction in Pediatric and Adolescent Patients: A Systematic Review.

Background: The rates of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) graft failure or contralateral ACL rupture range from 17% to 30% in pediatric patients after ACL reconstruction (ACLR). A contributing factor to the high reinjury rate in this population may be the limited evidence regarding appropriate criteria for allowing unrestricted return to activity (RTA) postoperatively.

Purpose: To review the literature and identify the most commonly used criteria when determining unrestricted RTA after ACLR in pediatric patients.

The effect of vertebral body tethering on spine range of motion in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: a pilot study.

Purpose: Posterior spinal fusion and instrumentation (PSF) and vertebral body tethering (VBT) are corrective surgical techniques used in treating adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). Comparing the preservation of spine range of motion (ROM) following PSF and VBT for treatment of AIS has yet to be explored. The purpose of this work was to retrospectively compare global spine ROM in adolescents (9-18 years of age) without spine deformity, adolescents with untreated AIS, adolescents having undergone PSF, and adolescents having undergone VBT to gain insight on the effect of VBT on spine motion.

Protocol for the systematic review of return-to-activity criteria in adolescent patients following an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.

Bilateral Discoid Medial Menisci: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Bilateral discoid medial menisci are exceptionally rare and of uncertain pathoetiology. We report on a case in an active adolescent woman who presented with bilateral medial knee joint line pain. Clinical evaluation and MRI identified atypical bilateral discoid medial menisci bilaterally.

Watching television or listening to music while exercising can serve as motivating factors, making it more pleasant to exercise for some people. However, it is unknown whether these stimuli influence food intake and/or physical activity energy expenditure (PAEE) for the remainder of the day, potentially impacting energy balance and weight control. We examined the effects of watching television or listening to music while exercising on post-exercise energy intake and expenditure.
