Actinomycosis is a rare, chronic, suppurative, and granulomatous bacterial disease. The species exist as normal flora in the oropharynx, gastrointestinal tract, and the female genital tract. They are incapable of penetrating the normal mucous membranes and become pathogenic only when this barrier has been destroyed by trauma, surgery, immunosuppression, or after viscus perforation.

This study aimed to investigate the short-term postoperative outcomes of reduced-port laparoscopic distal gastrectomy and demonstrate its safety and feasibility in overweight and obese patients with gastric cancer. The medical records of 211 patients who underwent reduced-port laparoscopic distal gastrectomy, between August 2014 and April 2020, were reviewed. After propensity score matching, they were divided into a non-overweight group (n = 68) and overweight group (n = 68).
