So far, a wide range of machine-learning based methods have been proposed for predicting these relationships. Their success is heavily dependent on the construction of the underlying feature vectors, with most using a set of physico-chemical properties derived from the sequence.

Renal Prognosis in Children With Tubulointerstitial Nephritis and Uveitis Syndrome.

Introduction: Tubulointerstitial nephritis (TIN) and uveitis (TINU) syndrome is a rare disease. The renal prognosis is generally thought to be better in children with TINU syndrome than in adults. However, data are scarce.

ICU delirium burden predicts functional neurologic outcomes.

Background: We investigated the effect of delirium burden in mechanically ventilated patients, beginning in the ICU and continuing throughout hospitalization, on functional neurologic outcomes up to 2.5 years following critical illness.

Methods: Prospective cohort study of enrolling 178 consecutive mechanically ventilated adult medical and surgical ICU patients between October 2013 and May 2016.

Pivoting to Video Telehealth for Delivery of HIV Care During COVID-19: A Brief Report.

The rapid spread of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic obstructed human subjects research, including our own randomized hybrid type 2 effectiveness-implementation trial comparing multidisciplinary HIV care delivered by video telehealth to home (VTH) versus in-person delivery. Given the Veteran Health Administration's extensive telehealth infrastructure and our team's expertise in personalized implementation of virtual treatments (PIVOT), we shifted our focus to meet the immediate needs of our primary study site (implementation). Our implementation team began training the interdisciplinary infectious diseases clinical team in VTH after declaration of the pandemic in March 2020.

Catamenial pneumothorax.

Thoracic endometriosis syndrome is an under-recognised manifestation of endometriosis and includes catamenial pneumothorax, catamenial haemothorax, catamenial haemoptysis and pulmonary nodules. Catamenial pneumothorax presents as recurrent spontaneous pneumothorax with a temporal relationship to the onset of menses, affecting mostly the right lung. A 48-year-old woman presented with an eight-year history of right-sided catamenial pneumothorax, during which time she had three episodes of pneumothorax.

Measurements of the Electroweak Diboson Production Cross Sections in Proton-Proton Collisions at sqrt[s]=5.02 TeV Using Leptonic Decays.

The first measurements of diboson production cross sections in proton-proton interactions at a center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV are reported. They are based on data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 302  pb^{-1}.

Combined searches for the production of supersymmetric top quark partners in proton-proton collisions at .

A combination of searches for top squark pair production using proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 at the CERN LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 collected by the CMS experiment, is presented. Signatures with at least 2 jets and large missing transverse momentum are categorized into events with 0, 1, or 2 leptons. New results for regions of parameter space where the kinematical properties of top squark pair production and top quark pair production are very similar are presented.

Precision luminosity measurement in proton-proton collisions at in 2015 and 2016 at CMS.

The measurement of the luminosity recorded by the CMS detector installed at LHC interaction point 5, using proton-proton collisions at in 2015 and 2016, is reported. The absolute luminosity scale is measured for individual bunch crossings using beam-separation scans (the van der Meer method), with a relative precision of 1.3 and 1.

Search for a heavy vector resonance decaying to a boson and a Higgs boson in proton-proton collisions at .

A search is presented for a heavy vector resonance decaying into a boson and the standard model Higgs boson, where the boson is identified through its leptonic decays to electrons, muons, or neutrinos, and the Higgs boson is identified through its hadronic decays. The search is performed in a Lorentz-boosted regime and is based on data collected from 2016 to 2018 at the CERN LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 137 . Upper limits are derived on the production of a narrow heavy resonance , and a mass below 3.

A search for charged Higgs bosons produced in vector boson fusion processes and decaying into vector bosons, using proton-proton collisions at at the LHC, is reported. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 137 collected with the CMS detector. Events are selected by requiring two or three electrons or muons, moderate missing transverse momentum, and two jets with a large rapidity separation and a large dijet mass.

Temporal trends and current use of de novo belatacept in kidney transplant recipients in the United States.

The adoption of de novo belatacept in kidney transplant (kTx) recipients was hampered by an increased risk of acute cellular rejection (ACR) with variation in adopted belatacept based immunosuppressive therapies across centers. We used data from the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) to evaluate the temporal trends in belatacept use and describe the associated induction and maintenance regimens in US adult kTx recipients transplanted between June 2011 and December 2018. Soluble CD89 is a critical factor for mesangial proliferation in childhood IgA nephropathy.

Childhood IgA nephropathy (IgAN) includes a wide spectrum of clinical presentations, from isolated hematuria to acute nephritis with rapid loss of kidney function. In adults, IgAN is an autoimmune disease and its pathogenesis involves galactose deficient (Gd) IgA1, IgG anti-Gd-IgA1 autoantibodies and the soluble IgA Fc receptor (CD89). However, implication of such factors, notably soluble CD89, in childhood IgAN pathogenesis remains unclear.

Development and validation of HERWIG 7 tunes from CMS underlying-event measurements.

This paper presents new sets of parameters ("tunes") for the underlying-event model of the event generator. These parameters control the description of multiple-parton interactions (MPI) and colour reconnection in , and are obtained from a fit to minimum-bias data collected by the CMS experiment at , 7, and . Measurements of angular distance and momentum ratio distributions in three-jet and + two-jet final states in collisions.

Collinear (small-angle) and large-angle, as well as soft and hard radiations are investigated in three-jet and  + two-jet events collected in proton-proton collisions at the LHC. The normalized production cross sections are measured as a function of the ratio of transverse momenta of two jets and their angular separation. The measurements in the three-jet and  + two-jet events are based on data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 8 , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.

MUSiC: a model-unspecific search for new physics in proton-proton collisions at .

Results of the Model Unspecific Search in CMS (MUSiC), using proton-proton collision data recorded at the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 , are presented. HIV-1 Treatment Failure, Drug Resistance, and Clinical Outcomes in Perinatally Infected Children and Adolescents Failing First-Line Antiretroviral Therapy in Western Kenya.

Background: Long-term impact of drug resistance in perinatally infected children and adolescents living with HIV (CALWH) is poorly understood. We determined drug resistance and examined its long-term impact on failure and mortality in Kenyan CALWH failing first-line non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor-based antiretroviral therapy (ART).

Recurrent Glomerular Disease after Kidney Transplantation: Diagnostic and Management Dilemmas.

Recurrent glomerular disease after kidney transplant remains an important cause of allograft failure. Many of the different entities post-transplant still suffer from incomplete knowledge on pathophysiology, and therefore lack targeted and effective therapies. In this review, we focus on specific clinical dilemmas encountered by physicians in managing recurrent glomerular disease by highlighting new insights into the understanding and treatment of post-transplant focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, membranous nephropathy, atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome, C3 glomerulopathy, amyloid light-chain (AL) amyloidosis, and IgA nephropathy.

Increasing access to care for trauma-exposed rural veterans: A mixed methods outcome evaluation of a web-based skills training program with telehealth-delivered coaching.

Purpose: While rural veterans with trauma exposure report high rates of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and functional impairment, utilization of health services is low. This pilot study used mixed qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate the potential benefits of a transdiagnostic web-based skills training program paired with telehealth-delivered coaching to address a range of symptoms and functional difficulties. The study directed substantial outreach efforts to women veterans who had experienced military sexual trauma given their growing representation in the Veterans Healthcare Administration (VHA) and identified need for services.

Advancing our understanding of the intersection between emotion regulation and alcohol and drug use problems: Dyadic analysis in couples with intimate partner violence and alcohol use disorder.

Background: An extensive body of literature has linked emotion regulation to alcohol and drug use problems, including among populations characterized by intimate partner violence (IPV). Advancing this research, the goal of the current study was to examine cognitive emotion regulation strategies and alcohol and drug use problems within a dyadic framework. Specifically, we examined actor and partner effects of maladaptive and adaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies on alcohol and drug use problems.
