Lung adenocarcinoma in a patient with Lynch syndrome: a case report and literature review.

This article presents a case of a 62-year-old Vietnamese woman with a history of Lynch syndrome (LS), who developed lung adenocarcinoma with L858R mutation. LS is an autosomal dominant cancer predisposition syndrome caused by a pathogenic germline variant in DNA mismatch repair genes, often leading to microsatellite instability. While LS is primarily associated with gastrointestinal, endometrial, ovarian, and urologic tract cancers, lung cancer accounts for less than 1% of LS-related cancers, with only six cases of LS-related lung cancer previously reported in the literature.

Quantitative electroencephalogram in term neonates under different sleep states.

Electroencephalogram (EEG) can be used to assess depth of consciousness, but interpreting EEG can be challenging, especially in neonates whose EEG undergo rapid changes during the perinatal course. EEG can be processed into quantitative EEG (QEEG), but limited data exist on the range of QEEG for normal term neonates during wakefulness and sleep, baseline information that would be useful to determine changes during sedation or anesthesia. We aimed to determine the range of QEEG in neonates during awake, active sleep and quiet sleep states, and identified the ones best at discriminating between the three states.

Quality control applications for recovering an inbred colony of Bagrada hilaris (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae).

The invasive stink bug, Bagrada hilaris (Burmeister), recently became established in the southwestern United States and has become a major pest of broccoli and other cole crops. Due to concerns about its possible establishment in Florida, a colony of this pest was maintained in quarantine to conduct research on its environmental requirements. The colony was reared reliably with approximately 300 adults per generation but began to decline in generation 16.
