Background: School Health insurance (SHI) is working in Egypt since 2003. However, there were no impact indicators that inform policy makers about health status of school children. Background: Obesity increases a person's risk of developing a number of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), including, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, hypertension, and certain cancers. The bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) has been considered as a safe, noninvasive, simple, and least expensive portable method for the evaluation of body composition in clinical practice. However, there is not enough information about its use in community-based surveys to detect the optimal cutoff point for the body fat percent (BF%) that could predict NCDs.
