For the last ten years, within molecular life sciences, the reproducibility crisis discourse has been embodied as a crisis of trust in scientific images. Beyond the contentious perception of "questionable research practices" associated with a digital turn in the production of images, this paper highlights the transformations of gel electrophoresis as a family of experimental techniques. Our aim is to analyze the evolving epistemic status of generated images and its connection with a crisis of trust in images within that field.

The Computational Chemistry List is a mailing list, portal, and community which brings together people interested in computational chemistry, mostly practitioners. It was formed in 1991 and continues to exist as a vibrant discussion space, highly valued by its members, and serving both its original and new functions. Its duration has been unusual for online communities.

The present work is devoted to the synthesis, conformational analysis, and stereodynamic study of aza-β(3)-cyclodipeptides. This pseudopeptidic ring shows E/Z hydrazide bond isomerism, eight-membered ring conformation, and chirotopic nitrogen atoms, all of which are elements that are prone to modulate the ring shape. The (E,E) twist boat conformation observed in the solid state by X-ray diffraction is also the ground conformation in solution, and emerges as the lowest in energy when using quantum chemical calculations.

Background: Pain on injection limits the use of propofol in children. The combination of lidocaine and propofol is widely used to reduce pain. A new solvent [medium-chain triglyceride (mct)/long-chain triglyceride (lct)] has been advocated to be less painful than standard (lct) propofol in adults, but no information is available of its usefulness in pre-school children.

Nucleic acid tetraplexes and lipophilic self-assembling G-quadruplexes contain stacked base tetrads with intercalated metal ions as basic building blocks. Thus far, quantum-chemical studies have been used to explore the geometric and energetic properties of base tetrads with and without metal ions. Recently, for the first time, work on a sandwiched G-tetrad complex has been studied.

The structure and thermal stability of a hetero chiral decaoligodeoxyribonucleotide duplex d(C1m8 G2C3G4C5LG6LC7G8C9G10)d(C11m8G12C13G14C15LG16LC17G18C19G20) (O1) with two contiguous pairs of enantiomeric 2'-deoxy-L-ribonucleotides (C5LG6L/C15LG16L) at its centre and an 8-methylguanine at position 2/12 was analysed by circular dichroism, NMR and molecular modelling. O1 resolves in a left-handed helical structure already at low salt concentration (0.1 M NaCl).
