The rapid progress in the development of virostatic agents over the past 15 years has changed chronic viral hepatitis from causally incurable diseases to diseases that may be treated or even cured. But, the treatment is a long-term process and it remains very expensive. Therefore, it is important to establish the correct diagnosis with the exact stratification of the disease (in terms of serological findings, regarding the activity of the inflammation and alterations of liver parenchyma) to determine the appropriate treatment schedule.

Objective: To detect lymphocyte subpopulations and CD3+/DR + expression in sepsis.

Methods: In a prospective clinical study we evaluated subpopulations of lymphocytes and percentage of CD3+/HLA-DR+ lymphocytes using two-color flow cytometry in 40 patients with sepsis and compared them with 34 healthy adults.

In 1986 in the CSR 978 cases of acute meningoencephalitis were notified, incl. 184 in the capital. In a group of 129 patients aged 1 to 63 years hospitalized at the First Clinic for Infectious Diseases in Prague-Bulovka (Paediatric Faculty Charles University) in 1986 the authors investigated the clinical course of acute meningoencephalitis in relation to the causal agent of the disease.
