This study examined the aging-associated health and care needs among the HIV population in Vietnam, integrating perspectives from healthcare professionals, PLWH, and their caregivers. Qualitative data were collected through five focus group interviews involving ten PLWH, nine caregivers, and eight healthcare providers in Hanoi, Vietnam, in March 2023. Thematic analyses uncovered recurring patterns and themes across the three participant groups.

Reducing functionally defective old HSCs alleviates aging-related phenotypes in old recipient mice.

Aging is a process accompanied by functional decline in tissues and organs with great social and medical consequences. Developing effective anti-aging strategies is of great significance. In this study, we demonstrated that transplantation of young hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) into old mice can mitigate aging phenotypes, underscoring the crucial role of HSCs in the aging process.

Obesity and leptin in breast cancer angiogenesis.

Aim: To determine the mortality rate and the predictive value of the prognostic nutritional index (PNI) for all-cause mortality during the 24 months in patients with stage IV colorectal cancer treated with capecitabine.

Methods: We conducted a study on 87 stage IV colorectal cancer patients treated with capecitabine. Before the day of treatment, all patients were measured CEA and CRP-hs levels and calculated neutrophil/lympho ratio (NLR) and PNI.

Transplacental Transmission of SARS-CoV-2: A Narrative Review.

The study aims to explore the potential for transplacental transmission of SARS-CoV-2, focusing on its pathophysiology, placental defense mechanisms, and the clinical implications for maternal and neonatal health. A comprehensive review of the current literature was conducted, analyzing studies on SARS-CoV-2 infection in pregnancy, the expression of key viral receptors (ACE2 and TMPRSS2) in placental cells, and the immune responses involved in placental defense. The review also examined the clinical outcomes related to maternal and neonatal health, including adverse pregnancy outcomes and neonatal infection.

Unusual Case of Fetal Meningocele Mimicking Dacryocystocele.

On the other hand, dacryocystocele, also a rare anatomical disorder, typically presents as a cyst located between the nose and the eye. Generally, distinguishing between these 2 lesions is not difficult.

Introduction: Axillary response to neoadjuvant endocrine therapy (NET) for the treatment of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer (HR+ BC) is not well-described. This study was designed to characterize nodal response after NET.

Methods: Patients receiving NET followed by curative intent surgery at a comprehensive cancer center from 1998 to 2022 in a prospectively collected registry were included.

Urinary incontinence after COVID-19 vaccination: a case study in an 8-year-old boy.

There have been many studies on the adverse effects of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines but the urinary incontinence after COVID-19 vaccination is rare. Here, we report an 8-year-old boy presented to outpatient department, Thai Binh University of Medicine Hospital, Thai Binh, Vietnam with complaints of urinary incontinence for the past 2 weeks, following the first dose of the messenger RNA vaccine. He had no other abnormalities in clinical and laboratory exams.
