Orbital rhabdomyosarcoma in a 19-year-old male patient: A case report and literature review.

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common mesenchymal tumor in children and adolescents, with 10% of cases occurring in the orbits. RMS should be suspected whenever children present with rapidly progressing unilateral exophthalmos. Its symptoms depend on the lesion's origin and location.

Prevalence of illicit drug consumption in a population of Hanoi: an estimation using wastewater-based epidemiology.

Illicit drug use is a serious issue in Vietnam, but information about their prevalence is scarce, mainly based on seizure data. Wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) is an alternative tool for obtaining such information, especially when stigma related to drug use can hinder survey approaches. The study aimed to apply WBE to assess the prevalence of use of a range of illicit drugs in an urban population of Vietnam.

Optimal frequency for magnetic resonant wireless power transfer in conducting medium.

In this article, we investigated the efficiency of a magnetic resonant wireless power transfer (MR-WPT) in conducting medium and found out an optimal frequency for designing the system. In conducting environment, the eddy current loss is generated by the high-frequency alternating currents in the coils. It is manifested by increased radiation resistance of resonator coil leads to decrease the quality factor (Q-factor), which reduces the wireless power transfer (WPT) efficiency in conducting medium.

Sensitive Near-Infrared Refractive Index Sensors Based on D-Shaped Photonic Crystal Fibers.

We report a numerical study of D-shaped photonic crystal fiber based plasmonic refractive index sensor with high resolution and sensitivity in the near-infrared region. D-shaped photonic crystal fiber is formed by side polishing one part of photonic crystal fiber. It has a polishing surface where plasmonic gold layer is coated to modulate the resonant wavelength and enhance the refractive index sensitivity.

Salmonella Paratyphi A (SPtA) remains one of the leading causes of enteric (typhoid) fever. Yet, despite the recent increased rate of isolation from patients in Asia, our understanding of its pathogenesis is incomplete. Here we investigated inflammasome activation in human macrophages infected with SPtA.

Differential antimicrobial susceptibility profiles between symptomatic and asymptomatic non-typhoidal infections in Vietnamese children.

Non-typhoidal Salmonella (NTS) serovars, sequences types and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles have specific associations with animal and human infections in Vietnam. Antimicrobial resistance may have an effect on the manifestation of human NTS infections, with isolates from asymptomatic individuals being more susceptible to antimicrobials than those associated with animals and human diarrhoea.

Controlling Fano resonances in multilayer dielectric gratings towards optical bistable devices.

The spectral properties of Fano resonance generated in multilayer dielectric gratings (MDGs) are reported and numerically investigated in this paper. We examine the MDG consisting of numerous identically alternative chalcogenide glass (AsS) and silica (SiO) multilayers with several grating widths inscribed through the structure, emphasizing quality (Q) and asymmetric (q) factors. Manipulation of Fano lineshape and its linear characteristics can be achieved by tailoring the layers' amount and grating widths so that the proposed structure can be applicable for several optical applications.
