Objective: The intention of this tutorial video is to illustrate the methods of examining the forelimb and neck of a horse in order to identify abnormalities that may be associated with lameness or disease.
Animal: A 16-year-old quarter horse gelding was used for examination.
Methods: The horse was examined for abnormalities by means of physical examination.
Advancements in hyperspectral imaging (HSI) together with the establishment of dedicated plant phenotyping facilities worldwide have enabled high-throughput collection of plant spectral images with the aim of inferring target phenotypes. Here, we test the utility of HSI-derived canopy data, which were collected as part of an automated plant phenotyping system, to predict physiological traits in cultivated Asian rice (). We evaluated 23 genetically diverse rice accessions from two subpopulations under two contrasting nitrogen conditions and measured 14 leaf- and canopy-level parameters to serve as ground-reference observations.

DNR 45 is significantly better than DNR 30 or ADM 30 for inducing complete remissions (CR) in patients younger than 60 yr, (72%, 59%, 58% CRs, respectively). DNR 30 is better than DNR 45 or ADM 30 for inducing CR in patients older than 60 yr (47%, 31%, 35%, respectively).

Two patients, a 4-year-old boy with acute lymphocytic leukemia and a 22-year-old man with acute myelocytic leukemia, achieved complete remission lasting 3 and 5+ months, respectively. Another 15-year-old male with acute lymphocytic leukemia had a partial remission for four months.

The diminished excretion of creatinine in progressive muscular dystrophy is a more striking and specific phenomenon than the excess excretion of creatine, marked though this is. While creatinuria is invariably encountered in all cases of long-standing dystrophy, the extent to which the excretion of creatinine is decreased provides a more reliable indication of the severity of the disease since an excess output of creatine may occur physiologically in normal human subjects and in many pathological conditions not known to be associated with muscle disease. In progressive muscular dystrophy the residual muscle mass, as inferred from the excretion of creatinine, provides a useful index of the state of the disease at any given time.
