We report herein a case of lung adenocarcinoma who developed liver and brain metastases during adjuvant atezolizumab therapy. Three-dimensional (3D) printing is an advanced technology for accurately understanding anatomy and supporting the successful surgical management of complex congenital heart disease (CHD). We aimed to evaluate whether our super-flexible 3D heart models could facilitate preoperative decision-making and surgical simulation for complex CHD. The super-flexible heart models were fabricated by stereolithography 3D printing of the internal and external contours of the heart from cardiac computed tomography (CT) data, followed by vacuum casting with a polyurethane material similar in elasticity to a child's heart.

BACKGROUND Most Fusobacterium necrophorum infections originate in the head and neck region. Infections originating from sites other than the head and neck are rare but are more common in older than in younger adults and have a higher mortality rate than that of infections originating from the head and neck region. This work demonstrates the effectiveness of vigorously stirred lanthanum oxide (LaO) suspensions in catalyzing Michael additions in water. These surfactant-free suspensions offer a counterintuitive yet highly efficient approach compared to traditional methods. Notably, the reactions are ineffective in the absence of water, suggesting a crucial role for the aqueous environment.

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-tyrosine kinase inhibitors are standard therapeutic agents for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with major EGFR mutations such as exon 19 deletions and a L858R mutation, whereas treatment strategies for cases with uncommon EGFR mutations remain to be fully established. Here, we report a long-term (≥20 years from initial diagnosis) NSCLC survivor carrying EGFR L858R and L747V mutations. The patient received gefitinib monotherapy, systemic chemotherapy/chemoimmunotherapy, and local consolidative therapies for oligometastatic lesions, and responded to afatinib rechallenge with a progression-free survival of 12 months.

Lethal giant larvae homolog 2 (LLGL2) and solute carrier family 7 member 5 (SLC7A5) have been reported to be involved in resistance to endocrine therapy. This study aimed to assess the effects of LLGL2/SLC7A5 co-expression in predicting prognosis and response to tamoxifen therapy in ERα-positive breast cancer patients according to LLGL2/SLC7A5 mRNA and protein expression in long-term follow-up invasive breast cancer tissues. We identified that low LLGL2/SLC7A5 mRNA co-expression (LLGL2/SLC7A5) was associated with disease-free survival (DFS) compared with other combination groups in all breast cancer patients.
