Background: Increased access to and indications for genetic testing will lead to more women undergoing risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO), with a potential impact on sexual function.
Aim: Our objective was to prospectively investigate (1) sexual function in women with pathogenic variant (PV) in genes, before and 1 year after RRSO, and to compare with a healthy age-matched control group and (2) to study if testosterone levels correlate with sexual functioning after RRSO.
Methods: A prospective observational follow-up study of 43 -PV carriers planned for RRSO and 73 healthy-age matched controls.
Objectives: To assess the efficacy and safety of the non-hormonal, neurokinin 3 receptor antagonist, fezolinetant, to treat moderate-severe vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause in individuals unsuitable for hormone therapy.

The objective was to study baseline subcutaneous adipose tissue gene expression as a prediction of weight loss by lifestyle intervention in obese/overweight women with PCOS. Ninety-seven participants (62% women), 35 with T2D and 62 BMI- and waist-matched controls without T2D, followed the 5:2 diet (two days per week of fasting) for six months with a 12-month follow-up. At six months, there was no loss to follow-up in the T2D group, whereas four controls discontinued this study.

Objectives: Here, we use a measure of COVID-19severity (hospitalization), compare digit ratios in patients and controls and consider whether vaccination status changed these associations.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most prevalent endocrine condition amongst females of reproductive age, leading to lifelong cardiometabolic, reproductive, psychological, and dermatologic symptoms as well as a reduced quality of life. Lifestyle interventions, which can include structured exercise programmes delivered by appropriately trained exercise professionals such as clinical exercise physiologists, are considered first-line strategies in PCOS management due to their therapeutic effects on various health outcomes and quality of life. This position statement builds on the 2023 International Evidence-based Guideline for the Assessment and Management of PCOS and describes the role of the exercise professional in the context of the multidisciplinary care team which includes physicians and allied health professionals.

Hyperandrogenism in women, such as polycystic ovary syndrome, ovarian hyperthecosis, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, and androgen-secreting tumors, are all associated with increased prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors that include type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and metabolic syndrome. However, it is not clear whether this also implies enhanced risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality. Furthermore, the involvement of obesity and menopausal status for cardiometabolic risk in these women has not been elucidated.

Exposure to critical body weight comments in youth athletes could lead to decreased self-esteem, affect body image, and increase the risk of eating disorders and cause depressive symptoms. The aim was to explore differences between sex, body mass index, sports type, with regards to body weight satisfaction, exposure to critical body weight comments from their coach and nutrition status in adolescent elite athletes. A questionnaire about body weight, critical body weight comments and nutrition was distributed to 489 adolescent elite athletes and injury prevalence was monitored across 20 weeks.

Methods: The primary objective was to assess the prevalence of moderate to severe menopause-related VMS among postmenopausal women aged 40 to 65 years in Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and four Nordic European countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden) using an online survey. Secondary objectives assessed impact of VMS among perimenopausal and postmenopausal women with moderate to severe VMS using the Menopause-Specific Quality of Life questionnaire, Work Productivity and Activity Impairment questionnaire, Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System sleep disturbances assessment, and questions regarding treatment patterns and attitudes toward symptoms and available treatments.
Introduction: Late-onset hypogonadism is the clinical entity characterised by low testosterone concentrations associated with clinical symptoms in the absence of organic disease in ageing men. It has been associated with metabolic syndrome, reduced bone mineral density, and increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality risk. Although testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) reverses most of these conditions in young hypogonadal men, the risk/benefit ratio of TRT in older men is debatable.
