Incomplete femoral neck fracture with characteristics of atypical femoral fracture: A case report and literature review.

Femoral neck fractures are considered exclusion criteria for atypical femoral fractures; however, femoral neck fractures with atypical femoral fractures have also been reported. Here, we report a case of a femoral neck fracture with features of atypical femoral fractures and a review of the related literature. A 76-year-old woman had been treated with denosumab for five years.

Pathologic Fractures Extended to the Metacarpal Head Related with Enchondromas at the Metacarpal Neck.

We present two cases of pathologic fractures extended to the metacarpal head related with enchondromas at the metacarpal neck treated by surgery. The timing of surgery varied between the two cases. The first was operated without delay, using tumor curettage and β-TCP (tricalcium phosphate) packing in the cavity, followed by internal fixation of the fracture using a screw and Kirshner wires.

Synovial Osteochondromatosis at the Carpometacarpal Joint of the Thumb.

Synovial osteochondromatosis (SOC) is a benign tumor characterized by synovial connective tissue metaplasia. SOC commonly affects major joints including the knee followed by the hip, elbow, and wrist. SOC cases in the hand are not reported as often as SOC of major joints.

Triple Fracture of the Intra-Articular Second Metacarpal Head, Intra-Articular Fourth Metacarpal Base, and Ulnar Styloid of An Ice Hockey Player: A Case Report.

We present a case of simultaneous ipsilateral fractures at the intra-articular second metacarpal head, intra-articular fourth metacarpal base, and ulnar styloid. These fractures were caused by the peculiar condition of a blow to the fist during an ice hockey game; the hand was struck while it was gripping a stick. The specific combination of these fractures has not been previously reported in the literature.

Accuracy of a proximal tibial cutting method using the anterior tibial border in TKA.

Purpose: In conventional total knee arthroplasty (TKA) using extramedullary alignment guides, it is not always easy to cut the proximal tibia precisely perpendicular to the tibial axis. The purpose of this study was to compare the radiographic accuracy of cutting the proximal tibia between the use of the bony landmarks of the anterior tibial border and the use of the conventional technique.

Phalanges deformity associated with neurofibromatosis-1: a case report.

We present a case of phalangeal deformity in a 17-year-old boy. The deformity was caused by a neurofibroma associated with neurofibromatosis type 1, affecting the left ring finger. The mass was surgically resected.
