We report a 65-year-old woman with chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) who developed severely sclerotic skin on the fingers, hand and trunk following autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (APBSCT). The patient had suffered from breast cancer and been treated with surgery and chemotherapy. She showed pancytopenia and was treated with APBCST.

- A 70-year-old woman discovered a mass in her right breast in 2001 but did not seek treatment until March 2003, when she presented with difficulty breathing and was found to have advanced right breast cancer with lymph node and pleural involvement.
- Initial treatment with CMF chemotherapy showed no significant improvement, leading to the use of exemestane, which also had limited success as tumor markers rose.
- Following the switch to toremifene, the patient showed significant improvement, with a reduction in tumor size and resolution of pleural effusion and atelectasis after nine months of treatment.
Primary breast diffuse large B-cell lymphoma has a poor prognosis relative to other extranodal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Recently, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma has been subclassified as germinal center B-cell-like and nongerminal center B-cell types using tissue microarrays. The 5-year overall survival rate of the germinal center B-cell group is better than that of the nongerminal center B-cell group.
