Aims: While the prevalence of transthyretin-derived amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) is on the rise, detailed understanding of its morphological and functional characteristics within the left ventricle (LV) across heart failure (HF) remains limited.
Methods And Results: Utilizing two-dimensional (2D) speckle-tracking echocardiography, we assessed longitudinal strain (LS) in 63 histology-confirmed ATTR-CM patients. Additionally, cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) images measured native T1 and extracellular volume (ECV), compared with LS across 18 LV segments.
Background: Gastric adenocarcinoma with enteroblastic differentiation (GACED), a rare subtype of gastric cancer, is associated with a more aggressive behavior than conventional gastric adenocarcinomas. We report a rare case of stage IV GACED treated with D2 gastrectomy and postoperative chemotherapy.
Case Presentation: A 39-year-old woman with acute upper abdominal pain immediately underwent surgery for gastric perforation.

Background: Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a rare tumor of mesenchymal origin and accounts for < 2% of all soft tissue masses. Although SFT has been identified in multiple anatomic locations and can grow anywhere in the body, intrapulmonary SFT are rare.
Case Presentation: In this report, we presented a rare case of intrapulmonary solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) coexisting with lung adenocarcinoma in a 74-year-old man.
Objective: We aimed to compare the accuracy of virtual noncontrast (VNC) images obtained from contrast-enhanced dual-layer spectral computed tomography (DLSCT) scans of the abdomen between pediatric and adult patients.
Methods: We retrospectively studied 10 pediatric and 40 adult patients who underwent unenhanced and contrast-enhanced DLSCT for nontraumatic acute abdomen or a follow-up of tumor or aneurysm. On true noncontrast (TNC) and VNC images, we placed a region-of-interest on 7 abdominal structures.
Purpose: The evaluation of all ribs on thin-slice CT images is time consuming and it can be difficult to accurately assess the location and type of rib fracture in an emergency. The aim of our study was to develop and validate a convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithm for the detection of acute rib fractures on thoracic CT images and to investigate the effect of the CNN algorithm on radiologists' performance.
Methods: The dataset for development of a CNN consisted of 539 thoracic CT scans with 4906 acute rib fractures.
Objective: We aimed to determine whether dual-energy computed tomography (CT) is useful for evaluating deep neck abscesses.
Methods: This study included 22 consecutive patients who were clinically suspected of having a deep neck abscess and underwent dual-energy CT. Conventional 120-kVp images, 70- and 40-keV virtual monochromatic images (VMIs), and iodine maps were inspected to calculate the contrast ratio of the abscess rim (AR) to the abscess center (AC) or to the adjacent muscle (M).
Trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2 (TROP2) is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed in epithelial cells. Increased TROP2 expression has been reported to be associated with malignant progression in most carcinomas; however, TROP2 has a tumor-suppressive function in certain types of cancer. Since the function of TROP2 is controversial, the present study subsequently aimed to clarify the clinicopathologic significance of TROP2 and pTROP2 expression in human gastric cancer (GC).

Both proteins were expressed in a human breast cancer cell line, MCF-7 cells, but neither was in a human colon cancer cell line, HCT116 cells. The present animal study investigated whether oral intake of synthetic bone mineral (SBM) improves peri-implant bone formation and bone micro architecture (BMA). SBM was used as an intervention experimental diet and AIN-93M was used as a control. The SBM was prepared by mixing dicalcium phosphate dihydrate (CaHPO·2HO) and magnesium and zinc chlorides (MgCl and ZnCl, respectively), and hydrolyzed in double-distilled water containing dissolved potassium carbonate and sodium fluoride.
