Association between Caregivers' Fear of Post-fracture Patients Falling and a Decline in Patients' Activities.

Objectives: To evaluate caregivers' fear of post-fracture patients falling, we previously developed the Caregivers' Fear of Falling Index (CFFI). In this study, we investigated the relationship between patient performance in activities of daily living (ADLs) and CFFI.

Methods: We surveyed 55 patients receiving home-visit rehabilitation after fall-related fracture and their primary caregivers.

A three-round Delphi method was conducted with medical professionals engaged in discharge support for patients with fall-related fractures. Immature adipocyte-derived exosomes inhibit expression of muscle differentiation markers.

Exosomes are released from a variety of cells to communicate with recipient cells. Exosomes contain microRNAs (miRNAs), which are noncoding RNAs that suppress target genes. Our previous proteomic study (FEBS Open Bio 2016, 6, 816-826) demonstrated that 3T3-L1 adipocytes secrete exosome components as well as growth factors, inspiring us to investigate what type of miRNA is involved in adipocyte-secreted exosomes and what functions they carry out in recipient cells.
