The Brevibacillus expression system has been successfully employed for the efficient productions of a variety of recombinant proteins, including enzymes, cytokines, antigens and antibody fragments. Here, we succeeded in secretory expression of Trastuzumab Fab antibody fragments using B. choshinensis/BIC (Brevibacillus in vivocloning) expression system.

This halophilic BLA fusion technology was applied here for secretory expression in Brevibacillus. The "Brevibacillus in vivo cloning" method, recently developed by Higeta Shoyu group, for the construction and transformation of Brevibacillus expression vectors facilitates efficient screening of the production conditions of Brevibacillus expression system.
