Summary: Here, we present Viola, a Python package that provides structural variant (SV; large scale genome DNA variations that can result in disease, e.g. cancer) signature analytical functions and utilities for custom SV classification, merging multi-SV-caller output files and SV annotation.

To gain insight into the host functions of a nanocavity encircled by both polyaromatic panels and heteroatoms, nitrogen-doped polyaromatic capsules were successfully synthesized from metal ions and pyridine-embedded, bent anthracene-based ligands. The new capsules display unique host-guest interactions in the isolated cavities, which are distinct from those of the undoped analogues. Besides the inclusion of Ag ions, the large absorption change of fullerene C and altered emission of a BODIPY dimer are observed upon encapsulation by the present hosts.

This study aimed to extract information from body pressure distribution, including comfort, participant body size, and seat characteristics by using supervised deep learning, and body pressure characteristics corresponding to sensory evaluation by using unsupervised deep learning. Body pressure data of 18 participants and 19 kinds of car seats were used for the analysis. Sensory evaluation of 9 items concerning cushion characteristics and seat comfort was conducted.

This paper addresses the mechanical structure and control method of a redundant drive robot (RDR) to produce compliant motions, and show how the design parameters of the RDR can effect the produced motions and the mechanical and performance limitations of the actuators of the RDR. The structure and control method of the RDR can have been proper to produce compliant motions, but the effect of the design parameters of the RDR to the mechanical and performance limitations have not been clear. Therefore, the feasibility of producing compliant motions in the case of the prototype of the RDR is confirmed by conducting simulations and experiments, and then the design parameters of the RDR to the mechanical and performance limitations are verified by conducting simulations.
