Background: There is a need for unified guidance in the management of acneiform rash induced by epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors (EGFRi) among dermatologists.
Objective: To establish unified international guidelines for the management of acneiform rash caused by EGFR inhibitors, based on an experts' Delphi consensus.
Methods: The initiative was led by five members of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Task Force 'Dermatology for Cancer Patients' who developed a questionnaire that was circulated to a group of 32 supportive oncodermatology experts in Europe, Canada, Argentina, the US States and Asia.

Objective: Assess feasibility and provider experience with the Virtual Team Rounding Program (VTRP), a quality improvement project developed and rapidly scaled at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, in response to the surge of COVID-19 patients in the spring of 2020.
Methods: We surveyed 777 inpatient providers and 41 providers who served as 'virtual rounders' regarding their experience with the program.
Problem: The SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic presented numerous challenges to inpatient care, including overtaxed inpatient medicine services, surges in patient censuses, disrupted patient care and educational activities for trainees, underused providers in certain specialties, and personal protective equipment shortages and new requirements for physical distancing. In March 2020, as the COVID-19 surge began, an interdisciplinary group of administrators, providers, and trainees at Brigham and Women's Hospital created an inpatient virtual staffing model called the Virtual Team Rounding Program (VTRP).
Approach: The conceptual framework guiding VTRP development was rapid-cycle innovation.
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) may cause eruptions resembling cutaneous autoimmune diseases. There are six cases of immunotherapy-associated subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE) in the literature. We present details of five patients referred to the Skin Toxicity Program at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center who developed de novo immunotherapy-associated SCLE-like eruptions, along with clinicopathological correlation and highlight potential mechanistic features and important diagnostic points.

Blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) is a rare, aggressive malignancy derived from the plasmacytoid dendritic cell that commonly involves the skin. Cutaneous involvement is often the initial presentation, with deep purple or red-brown macules, plaques, or tumors. As such, dermatologists may be the first to see these patients and, in addition to oncologists, should be familiar with its presentation to facilitate early diagnosis, helping to distinguish it from acute myelogenous leukemia cutis.

Although this reaction can be effectively catalyzed by gold, it is the first example of uncatalyzed oxyboration of C-C π bonds by B-O σ bonds--and only the second example that is catalyzed. This oxyboration reaction is tolerant of groups incompatible with alternative lithiation/borylation and palladium-catalyzed C-H activation/borylation technologies for the synthesis of borylated isoxazoles.

The transmetalation reaction is more facile for increasingly electrophilic boron reagents and is in equilibrium under certain conditions. Observed tetracoordinate boronate compounds suggest a two-step, associative transmetalation reaction mechanism in which the organogold complex first delivers a nucleophilic phenyl group to the empty orbital of boron.

Using two transition metals to simultaneously catalyze a reaction can offer distinct opportunities for reactivity and selectivity when compared to using single-metal catalyst systems. Creating dual transition metal catalytic systems is complicated, however, by challenges in predicting compatible reactivities and designing turnover pathways for both metals. In this Account, we describe our development of dual-metal catalysis reactions involving gold and a second transition metal.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPb-containing hydroxylapatite phases synthesized under aqueous conditions were investigated by X-ray diffraction and solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques to determine the Pb, Ca distribution. 31P and 1H magic-angle spinning (MAS) NMR results indicate slight shifts of the isotropic chemical shift with increased Ca content and complex lineshapes at compositions with near equal amounts of Ca and Pb. 31P{207Pb} and 1H{207Pb} rotational-echo double resonance (REDOR) results for intermediate compositions show that resolved spectral features cannot be assigned simply in terms of local Ca, Pb configurations or coexisting phases.
