Rosai-Dorfman disease differentiated from a posterior mediastinal tumour: a case report.

Rosai-Dorfman disease presenting solely with intrathoracic lesions is exceptionally rare. Herein, we report the case of a 53-year-old man presenting with a posterior mediastinal tumour. Computed tomography revealed a 7-cm soft tissue shadow in the posterior mediastinum.

Resection of an intrapulmonary solitary fibrous tumor in the center of the middle lobe: a case report.

A 75-year-old female patient was referred to our hospital due to an abnormal shadow detected by chest X-ray. Computed tomography scans revealed a well-circumscribed nodule measuring 28 mm between B4 and B5 in the right middle lobe. Because the tumor was in the center of right middle lobe, a middle lobe resection was performed.

The flagellin A gene (flaA) sequences, swimming motility, and biofilm forming ability were investigated in order to reveal the genetic and functional differences of flagella between clinical and environmental isolates of Aeromonas species. Twenty-eight clinical and 48 environmental strains of Aeromonas species isolated in Okinawa Prefecture of Japan were used in this study. The full-length flaA genes of these strains were sequenced and aligned, and a phylogenetic tree was constructed.

Cutaneous eyelid melanoma with lacrimal sac metastasis: the potential role of lacrimal fluid as a metastatic pathway.

Here we present a patient with cutaneous eyelid melanoma patient with lacrimal sac metastasis. Clinicopathological findings in this case support the theory that lacrimal fluid can be a metastatic pathway for tumour cells. Dermatologists should be aware of the possibility that cutaneous eyelid melanoma may involve the nasolacrimal system and should examine it during the perioperative period and in postoperative follow-up.

Management and outcomes of hydronephrosis in patients with metastatic extramammary Paget's disease: A retrospective analysis.

Hydronephrosis in extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD) with distant metastasis (metastatic EMPD) has been observed in medical practice; however, its prognosis remains unclear. Occurrence of Carriage of Multidrug Resistant Enterobacteriaceae among Pregnant Women in the Primary Health Center and Hospital Setting in Surabaya, Indonesia.

The incidence of healthy individuals carrying multidrug resistant Enterobacteriaceae, including extended-spectrum β-lactamase producing Enterobacteriaceae (ESBL-E), especially extended-spectrum β-lactamase producing (ESBL-EC) and extended-spectrum β-lactamase producing (ESBL-KP), is increasing worldwide. Although ESBL-E causes early or late onset of neonatal sepsis, the prevalence of ESBL-E carriage among pregnant women in Indonesia is not clear. In the present study, we compared the occurrence of carriage of ESBL-E among pregnant women in a primary health center (PHC) versus two hospitals.

Adoptive cell therapy using tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes for melanoma refractory to immune-checkpoint inhibitors.

To evaluate the feasibility of adoptive cell therapy (ACT) using ex vivo-expanded tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in Japanese patients with melanoma who failed immune-checkpoint inhibitor therapy, an open-label, single-arm, pilot study was conducted. We investigated the immunological and genetic factors of the pretreatment tumor and expanded TILs that may be associated with the clinical response. The treatment protocol comprised preparation of TIL culture, lympho-depleting non-myeloablative preconditioning with cyclophosphamide and fludarabine, TIL infusion, and intravenous administration of low-dose IL-2.

Anti-PD-1 antibody therapy for epithelial skin malignancies: An investigator-initiated, open-label, single-arm, multicenter, phase II clinical trial (NMSC-PD1 Study).

Introduction: Malignant cutaneous epithelial tumors comprise various skin malignancies originating from the cutaneous epithelium, including cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, and malignant cutaneous adnexal tumors. Treatment options are limited, as the rarity of these tumors, especially among Asians, renders well-controlled clinical trials extremely challenging to conduct.
