Acute hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection is usually self-limiting and presents as mild jaundice accompanied by malaise, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or fever. Rarely, it can lead to fulminant hepatic failure especially in pregnant women or cause extrahepatic manifestations. We report a case of a young woman already diagnosed with acute HEV infection who presented with a generalized body rash and weakness in all four limbs.
