Starch [(CHO) ]-stabilized bismuth sulfide (BiS) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized in a single-pot reaction using bismuth nitrate pentahydrate (Bi(NO)·5HO) and sodium sulfide (NaS) as precursors. BiS NPs were stable over time and a wide band gap of 2.86 eV was observed.

Purpose: Diabetes mellitus and periodontitis are inflammatory diseases, the severity of inflammation results in the progression and persistence of both the disorders and affects bones. Diabetic complications aggravate in diabetic subjects having periodontitis; similarly, diabetic patients are more prone to developing gingivitis and periodontitis. Periodontal and diabetic inflammation disturbs bone homeostasis, which possibly involves both innate and adaptive immune responses.

Background: This cross-sectional study investigated the bone mineral density (BMD) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) subjects with or without chronic periodontitis (CP).
