Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of splinting, ultrasound (US), and low-level laser (LLL) in the management of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS).

Article Synopsis
  • Rheumatic diseases, like ankylosing spondylitis (AS), lead to chronic inflammation that can severely affect movement and overall health, particularly impacting the axial skeleton and lungs.
  • The study examined 36 AS patients and 34 healthy individuals to assess how pulmonary functions relate to quality of life and disease activity, finding that 41.7% of AS patients experienced pulmonary issues.
  • Results indicated that reduced lung function correlated with lower functionality and quality of life, but smoking status did not significantly influence disease activity or pulmonary performance.
