As more VCDs obtain real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) instruments and the costs associated with computing power and next-generation sequencing continue to decrease, the option of generating useful molecular data in-house becomes more viable. Measures such as arbovirus testing and genotyping for insecticide resistance mutations using RT-qPCR, and identifying species used for mosquito bloodmeals with next-generation sequencing or Sanger sequencing are examples.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of discrete passages of play on locomotor demands of international men's and women's rugby sevens matches and their relationship with winning or losing. Thirteen men's and thirteen women's international rugby sevens players wore 10 Hz Global Positioning Systems during twelve Tokyo Olympic games matches (966 observations; 507 for men, 459 for women). Purpose: Critically ill infants from marginalized populations disproportionately receive care in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) that lack access to state-of-the-art genomic care, leading to inequitable outcomes. We sought provider perspectives to inform our implementation study (VIGOR) providing rapid genomic sequencing within these settings.

Methods: We conducted semistructured focus groups with neonatal and genetics providers at 6 NICUs at safety-net hospitals, informed by the Promoting Action on Research Implementation in Health Services framework, which incorporates evidence, context, and facilitation domains.

Aims: Between late 2020 and early 2022, EURADIA undertook a survey of organisations and individuals supporting or working in the field of diabetes research with the aim of understanding better the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on funding for diabetes research in Europe.

Methods: Information was collected via online survey augmented in some cases by face-to-face interviews.

Results: Findings were mixed but the majority of those responding suggested a moderate impact of the pandemic on diabetes research activity.
