Despite the systemic impact of both cancer and the associated immune response, immuno-PET is predominantly centered on assessment of the immune milieu within the tumor microenvironment. The aim of this study was to assess the value of [F]F-AraG PET imaging as a noninvasive method for evaluation of system-wide immune status of patients with non-small cell lung cancer before starting immunotherapy. Mitotic chromosomes also decrease in size during development, presumably to scale coordinately with mitotic spindles, but the underlying mechanisms are unclear. Here we combine in vivo and in vitro approaches using eggs and embryos from the frog to show that mitotic chromosome scaling is mechanistically distinct from other forms of subcellular scaling.
