It is described as pain throughout the menstrual cycle which is one of the most prominent causes of pelvic pain in women. Traditional medicine and Ayurveda has for centuries stipulated and employed herbs to treat a variety of illnesses.

Radiotherapy affects salivary glands more intensely than it does other organs, and salivary gland dysfunction can continue during or after treatment. The aim of this study was to examine structural alterations in submandibular glands through ultrasonography following head-neck radiotherapy in patients and to evaluate the impact of radiation dose on these modifications. Forty-six submandibular glands were assessed ultrasonographically for the changes in echogenicity, echotexture, and margin and the influence of the radiation dose on these changes before radiotherapy at 3 time points: the second and sixth months following starting treatment.

Objective: The study aimed to assess the level of knowledge of patients with cervical cancer referred to radiation oncology outpatient clinics in Turkey regarding screening methods and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination and increase social awareness based on the findings.

Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional survey was conducted from January to June 2022 involving 300 patients in various regions. Data on demographics, cervical cancer screening and HPV vaccination knowledge, and recommendations to relatives were collected through a questionnaire-based interview.

In this study, we sought to determine how well naringenin, hesperidin, and quercetin prevented damage brought on by radiotherapy. During the investigation, 48 adult female Sprague Dawley rats were used. Eight groups of eight rats each were formed by randomly assigning the rats to the groups.

Objectives: The present study investigated the dimensional changes in the submandibular glands following radiotherapy using ultrasonography.

Methods: Twenty-three patients planned to receive head-neck radiotherapy were included in this study. The anteroposterior, superoinferior, mediolateral length, and volumes of 46 submandibular glands were measured by ultrasonography at 3 different time periods (before radiotherapy and in the second and sixth months after the radiotherapy onset) and evaluated in terms of dimensional changes and the effect of the radiation dose on these changes.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to employ biochemical, histopathological, and immunohistochemical methods to reveal the effectiveness of hesperidin and thymol in preventing radiotherapy-associated submandibular gland injury.

Methods: A total of 48 female Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned into six groups of eight animals each. Group 1 represented the control group.

Background/aim: It is believed that radiotherapy has important effects on oxidant/antioxidant systems. Oxidative stress occurs when the balance between oxidant formation and antioxidant defense is disrupted in favor of oxidants. The aim of this study was to determine the biochemical changes in saliva pre- and postradiotherapy in head-neck radiotherapy patients and to find out the effects of radiation on glutathione (GSH), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels in saliva.

Objective: The functions of E-selectin, interleukin (IL)-23, and soluble intercellular adhesion molecule (sICAM) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients before and after radiotherapy (RT) are poorly understood. The purpose of our study was to investigate serum IL-23, E-selectin and sICAM levels in NSCLC patients before and after RT.

Methods: Forty-four patients with pathologically confirmed NSCLC and 30 healthy individuals were included in the study.

Objective: This study investigated pre- and post-treatment tumor and lymph node dimension response rates and differences between side-effect profiles in patients with locally advanced inoperable nonsmall-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) receiving radiotherapy (RT) and concurrent chemotherapy (CT).

Materials And Methods: A total of 30 inoperable patients who had not previously received RT and having a mean age of 58.73±8.

Testicular dysfunction or damage is among the critical side effects of chemotherapeutic drugs like cisplatin. This study was mapped out to assess the possible therapeutic effect of eugenol on cisplatin-induced testicular damage. In this experimental study, a single dose of cisplatin (15 mg/kg) was given intraperitoneally.

Objective: Treatment planning is primarily based on the tumor node metastasis (TNM) staging system for head and neck cancer (HNC). However, TNM does not give sufficient information about biological aggressiveness, treatment response, and prognosis. New molecular markers are needed for individualized cancer treatment.

Objective: This study compared biochemical recurrence (BR), biochemical recurrence-free survival (BRFS) and overall survival (OS) rates and therapeutic methods in patients undergoing definitive radiotherapy (RT) or radical prostatectomy (RP) because of diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Method: Files of 128 patients undergoing RP (n=82) or RT (n=46), who did not receive salvage therapy, and with serum PSA levels monitored three-monthly for at least two years were examined retrospectively. Patients were assigned into low, intermediate and high risk groups based on D'Amico risk classifications.

Prediction of tumor volume using the Cavalieri method may be helpful in management of therapy and evaluation of treatment results. The aim of this study was to adapt the Cavalieri stereological method to magnetic resonance imaging for determining volume of nasopharyngeal cancers and assess changes after treatment using the Cavalieri method. Serial MRI images in the sagittal plane were obtained from a total of 33 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinomas (11 with stage T2, 11 with stage T3, and 11 with stage T4 lesions).

Unlabelled: In this study, serum carnitine (CRNT) and adiponectin (APN) levels and the correlation of these parameters in patients with breast cancer before and after treatment with radiotherapy (RT) were determined.

Materials And Methods: Serum adiponectin and carnitine levels were assessed in 58 patients with breast carcinoma and 30 control subjects. Serum carnitine and APN levels were determined using a specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine whether plasma lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase (pLCAT) and erythrocyte membrane Na(+)-K(+)-ATPase ase (emNaKATPs) activity have a correlation in breast cancer. This study compared these parameters at time points before and after treatment with radiotherapy.

Methods: The levels of pLCAT and emNaKATPs were assessed in 30 patients with breast carcinoma and 20 control subjects.

Objective: There is currently substantial clinical interest in zinc (Zn) as an antioxidant and a protective agent against radiation-related normal tissue injury. To further assess the potential antioxidative effects, the effects of Zn were studied in rat lenses, a model of radiation-induced oxidative stress.

Materials And Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into three equal groups.
