Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on modifying porous stainless steel (SUS) supports to improve hydrogen diffusion in a thin palladium (Pd) membrane.
  • Two types of intermediate layers, silicalite-1 and γ-alumina, were used, but the silicalite-1 layer reduced the membrane's durability due to differing thermal expansion rates.
  • The results showed that using commercial spherical non-porous silica particles enhanced both the hydrogen permeance and the durability of the Pd membrane compared to using mesoporous MCM-48 powders.

strain CH-1 converts 2-azahypoxnathine to 2-aza-8-oxohypoxanthine, plant growth-regulating compounds, by oxidation. We report here the high-quality draft genome sequence of CH-1. The genome contains 8,065 protein-coding sequences, including several genes possibly involved in metabolizing 2-azahypoxanthine.

We isolated a high-purity carp glycophorin from carp erythrocyte membranes and prepared the oligosaccharide fraction from glycophorin by β-elimination [1]. The oligosaccharide fraction was separated into two components (P-1 and P-2) using a Glyco-Pak DEAE column. These O-linked oligosaccharides (P-1 and P-2) were composed of glucose, galactose, fucose, N-acetylgalactosamine and N-glycolylneuraminic acid (NeuGc).
