Article Synopsis
  • This study assessed the use of urinary TGFα and serum AFP as diagnostic markers for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in patients with cirrhosis.
  • Both TGFα and AFP levels were significantly higher in HCC patients compared to those with cirrhosis alone and healthy controls, suggesting a strong association with HCC development.
  • When measured together, these markers significantly improved diagnostic accuracy, showing high sensitivity and specificity, especially for cases with low AFP levels.
