Objective: To compare the performance of cytology, HPV16/18 genotyping and PAX1/SOX1 methylation for the triage of high-risk HPV-positive cervical samples.
Design: Retrospective analyses of archival samples collected from a large-scale prospective randomised controlled trial.
Setting/sample: HPV-positive women recruited from the general cervical screening population.
Background: Peritoneal metastases frequently occur in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), resulting in poor prognosis and survival rates. Tumor-associated-macrophages (TAMs) massively infiltrate into ascites spheroids and are multi-polarized as protumoral M2-like phenotype, orchestrating the immunosuppression and promoting tumor progression. However, the impact of omental conditioned medium/ascites (OCM/AS) on TAM polarization and its function in tumor progression remains elusive.

Diagnosis of GTN could be based on clinical presentation, serum hCG measurement, imaging, histology, and genotyping. A high index of suspicion in women of reproductive age presenting with abnormal vaginal bleeding or unusual systematic presentation is important.

Objectives: The study aimed to compare the diagnostic accuracies of 2-[F]FDG PET/CT and contrast-enhanced CT (ceCT) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in advanced ovarian cancer (OC).
Materials And Methods: This study consisted historical observational cohort and prospective validation cohort. Patients with newly diagnosed stage III-IV OC scheduled for NACT were recruited, with imaging performed after three to six cycles of NACT before interval debulking surgery.
The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic efficacy of colposcopic-directed biopsy and four-quadrant biopsy in detecting high-grade cervical intra-epithelial neoplasia (CIN). Women attending three women's clinics for routine cervical screening were recruited. Colposcopy was arranged for women with any cytologic abnormalities greater than atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASCUS), two consecutive ASCUS results or positive HPV testing.

Women who had recently completed treatment for ovarian cancer and had a raised pre-treatment tumour marker were recruited. Participants were allocated to PIFU (intervention group) or conventional hospital follow-up (control group) according to their own preference.

However, there is no consensus on whether lymphadenectomy has survival benefit or not in early epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC).
Methods: We designed the LOVE study, a multicenter, randomized controlled, phase III trial to compare the efficacy and safety of comprehensive staging surgery with or without lymphadenectomy in stages IA-IIB EOC and fallopian tube carcinomas (FTC).
Objective: The dilemma in treating cervical high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) is how to achieve complete excision to minimize the risk of cervical cancer while sparing the anatomy of the cervix and its ability to function during pregnancy. The optimal management for positive margins after excisional treatment is still controversial. This study was conducted to determine the clinical and histologic predictors of residual/recurrent HSIL and assess the outcome of women with positive margin.

Methods: PCR-based miRNome profiling, qPCR, immunofluorescent analyses evaluated the expression of exosomal miR-141 and cell-to-cell communication.
Ovarian cancer is one of the most lethal gynecological cancers worldwide. The poor prognosis of this malignancy is substantially attributed to the inadequate symptomatic biomarkers for early diagnosis and effective remedies to cure the disease against chemoresistance and metastasis. Ovarian cancer metastasis is often relatively passive, and the single clusters of ovarian cancer cells detached from the primary ovarian tumor are transcoelomic spread by the peritoneal fluid throughout the peritoneum cavity and omentum.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOvarian cancer is the deadliest gynecological cancer, leading to over 152,000 deaths each year. A late diagnosis is the primary factor causing a poor prognosis of ovarian cancer and often occurs due to a lack of specific symptoms and effective biomarkers for an early detection. Currently, cancer antigen 125 (CA125) is the most widely used biomarker for ovarian cancer detection, but this approach is limited by a low specificity.

The patient was diagnosed with stage 4 high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma and was treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, cytoreductive surgery, and postoperative chemotherapy. After a second cancer recurrence, she underwent FoundationOne CDx testing following disease progression on multiple lines of chemotherapy.

Objective: To systematically evaluate the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination intentions among female university students in China and establish a basis for improving HPV vaccination coverage.
Methods: We searched CNKI, EBSCO, JSTOR, MESH or Emtree, Weipu Information Chinese Journal Service Platform, Wanfang Data, China Biomedical Literature Database, PubMed, Embase, Web for the Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library to identify peer-reviewed published research on intentions by female college students in China to receive the HPV vaccination.
Results: A preliminary search of 408 papers resulted in the inclusion of 12 studies, all cross-sectional, of moderate or high quality, with a sample size of 12,600.
High-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) testing has become an increasing important strategy in primary cervical cancer screening in recent years. It warrants the evaluation of molecular-based HPV tests for accuracy and efficacy of screening. The performance of Roche Cobas 4800 HPV test was validated and compared with Digene Hybrid Capture 2 (HC2) high-risk HPV DNA test for primary screening in a large Chinese screening cohort.

Despite the wide use of acupuncture for pain management, knowledge of its efficacy in managing postoperative pain is limited. Previous literature used either acupuncture or auricular acupuncture alone.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOvarian cancer is one of the most lethal gynecological malignancies worldwide, and chemoresistance is a critical obstacle in the clinical management of the disease. Recent studies have suggested that exploiting cancer cell metabolism by applying AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK)-activating agents and distinctive adjuvant targeted therapies can be a plausible alternative approach in cancer treatment. Therefore, the perspectives about the combination of AMPK activators together with VEGF/PD-1 blockade as a dual-targeted therapy against ovarian cancer were discussed herein.

Considering the differences in the mutation spectrum across ethnicity, it is important to identify hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC) genes mutation in Chinese for clinical management.
Methods: Two cohorts of 451 patients with ovarian cancer only (OV) and 93 patients with both breast and ovarian (BROV) cancers were initially screened for BRCA1, BRCA2, TP53, and PTEN.
Objective: This study (Asian Gynecologic Oncology Group [AGOG]13-001/Taiwanese Gynecologic Oncology Group [TGOG]1006) was to validate human papillomavirus (HPV)16 as an independent good prognostic factor and investigate the impact of treatment modalities to cervical adenocarcinoma and adenosquamous carcinoma (AD/ASC).
Materials And Methods: Patients receiving primary treatment at AGOG and TGOG member hospitals for cervical AD/ASC were retrospectively (1993-2014) and prospectively (since 2014) enrolled. DNA extraction from paraffin-embedded tissue (FFPE) specimens was used for HPV genotyping.
Malignant ascites in peritoneal metastases is a lipid-enriched microenvironment and is frequently involved in the poor prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). However, the detailed mechanisms underlying ovarian cancer (OvCa) cells dictating their lipid metabolic activities in promoting tumor progression remain elusive. The omental conditioned medium (OCM) was established to imitate the omental or ascites microenvironment.
