Background: Non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) takes up a substantial fraction of dermatological and plastic surgical outpatient visits and surgeries. NMSC develops as an accumulated exposure to UV light with the face most frequently diagnosed. Method: This retrospective study investigated the risk of complications in relation to full-thickness skin grafts (FTSG) or local flaps in 607 patients who underwent facial surgery and reconstruction at a high-volume center for facial cancer surgery at a tertiary university hospital.

First step in enhancing simulation in plastic surgery is to clarify the need among peers. The objective of the study was to identify and prioritize the technical procedures that should be included in a simulation-based curriculum for residency training in plastic surgery.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess patients' ability to breastfeed after superomedial reduction mammoplasty.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional study including patients treated with superomedial reduction mammoplasty between January 2009 and December 2018 at 2 tertiary hospitals in Denmark.
Background: Reduction mammoplasty effectively improves quality of life for women with macromastia. However, little is known whether surgical- or patient-related factors affect satisfaction.
Objective: The authors sought to investigate factors associated with altered patient satisfaction following reduction mammoplasty.
This review describes congenital anomalies of the external ear, which are common and include a wide range of malformations. Attentiveness to other malformations in newborns with ear anomalies is important, as they often appear as part of syndromes such as Goldenhar syndrome, Treacher Collins syndrome and branchio-oto-renal syndrome. This review is an overview of the most common congenital anomalies of the external ear and their treatment, including microtia, constricted ears, preauricular pits, tags and prominent ears.

Presentation Of Case: We present a case of nodular fasciitis occurring in the medial canthus of a 64-year-old, otherwise healthy, woman.
During the period 1967-1987, 26 ear reconstructions were carried out in the Department of Plastic Surgery, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen. These 26 patients were followed up, partly from the hospital records and partly by means of a questionnaire. Twenty-two patients replied to the questionnaire.

In all patients with parathyroid adenoma and detectable hPTH 1-34 preoperatively, the values fell after parathyroid surgery. Contrastingly, three of four patients with diffuse parathyroid hyperplasia and two of three with normal parathyroid glands showed a rise in hPTH 1-34 postoperatively, which was concomitant with very low serum calcium levels.

A rare case of intermittently bleeding, solitary benign schwannoma of the small intestine is presented. The tumor was identified by abdominal selective angiography. The importance of this investigation in cases of gastrointestinal bleeding without obvious cause is stressed.

In a series of 37 free composite tissue transplantations performed to the lower extremity in 34 patients, skin islands were included in 35 cases, as a cutaneous island flap (3), as a musculocutaneous island flap (19), and as an osteocutaneous island flap (13). In a follow-up study which included 26 patients with 29 flaps 6-48 months postoperatively an estimate was made of the importance of the blood supply through the vascular pedicle relative to the collateral blood supply through the recipient bed. Using transcutaneous oxygen tension measurements a significant reduction in calculated relative skin blood flow averaging 70% (p much less than 0.

Mixed flora of anaerobic and aerobic microorganisms were grown, and extensive necrosis of the skin and subcutaneous gas were present in all patients. Soon after hospitalization all 5 patients were treated by excision of all necrotic and undermined tissue, intravenous broad-spectrum antibiotics and hyperbaric oxygen administered at 3 atmospheres of pressure.
