Objectives: To examine how delivery time impacted on undergraduate nursing students' preparedness for evidence-based practice (EBP) by comparing the traditional semester mode and block mode of delivery models.
Methods: This two-group experimental study compared the traditional semester and block modes of delivery using a self-reported questionnaire. The factor of time was the variable in relation to learning with the block mode delivery being in a compressed timeframe.
Background: Intraepidermal nerve fiber density (IENFD) has become an important biomarker for neuropathy diagnosis and research. The consequences of reduced IENFD can include sensory dysfunction, pain, and a significant decrease in quality of life. We examined the extent to which IENFD is being used as a tool in human and mouse models and compared the degree of fiber loss between diseases to gain a broader understanding of the existing data collected using this common technique.

The aggressive type is characterized by an aggressive clinical course, lack of responsiveness to hormonal therapies, and an overall poor prognosis. Here we present pretherapy and posttherapy 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT images showing an exceptional response to 177Lu-PSMA therapy.

We examined how the severity of intimate partner violence (IPV) affected these trajectories, controlling for selected baseline factors using 5 waves of data collected from a community sample of 309 English-speaking, Canadian women. IPV severity was measured using the Index of Spouse Abuse where women were asked to consider the entire period of their partner relationship up to present at wave 1 and to rate their IPV experiences in the previous 12 months at waves 2-5.

Design: The sample was examined every 5 years for 35 years. Cognition was assessed repeatedly from the third examination.
Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-directed radioligand therapy (PSMA-RLT) with lutetium-177 (Lu-PSMA) has been used in metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), and retrospective data have shown this therapy to be favourably safe with attractive clinical responses. Re-challenge Lu-PSMA therapy in early responders has been shown to be safe and effective. We report the use of low-dose Taxol-based chemotherapy (modified dose 25 mg/m weekly × 6 weeks) as a radiosensitizer with re-challenge Lu-PSMA therapy (4 cycles).

The article examines roadwork at three levels: the professional biographies leading to 'flexible specialization' rather than technical expertise amongst Maldivian managers; the technical expertise and social incorporation of 'skilled' Sri Lankan supervisors; and the key material expertise of 'non-skilled' Bangladeshi labourers in precarious employment. Whilst discussions of South Asian labour migration have been dominated by caste and class, this article argues that it is important to consider how the cultural production and understanding of concepts such as 'expertise', 'capacity', and 'exposure' at worksites can (also) become distinguishing factors in (hierarchical) migratory labour relations.

Combining online data collection with a register of individuals who agree to be contacted about research opportunities provides an efficient, cost-effective platform for population-based research. HealthWise Wales (HWW) aims to facilitate research by recruiting a cohort of individuals who have consented to be informed about research projects, advertising studies to participants, supporting data collection on specific topics and providing access to linked healthcare data for secondary analyses.

Further, consumer and clinician participation in service development processes can boost confidence and motivation levels in organisational employees and help foster clinical accountability.
Objective: To see where consumers' care experiences could be improved by better understanding where care coordination organisational systems needed improvement.
Aims: A discussion of the implications and opportunities arising from the Commonwealth of Australia health care reform agenda; linking pricing with quality, with particular reference to directions for nursing-focused health services outcomes research directed to improve the safety and quality of health care practices.
Background: National activity-based funding in Australia is a policy-focused development. As the relationship between cost and quality becomes apparent, the role of clinicians and their contribution to high quality care has become a pressing issue for leadership, teaching, and research.
Background: Schools can play a vital role in the resettlement of refugee children and their families. Yet, the body of research examining school environmental factors that support the mental health and acculturation of refugee children is methodologically heterogeneous, investigates numerous and disparate school factors, and is often "hidden" in broader qualitative studies. This limits the capacity to apply the findings in a practical manner.

Methods: The Caerphilly Prospective Study recruited 2171 men aged 55-69 years from the general population in 1989-1993; men were screened for evidence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and followed for clinical cardiovascular events. Fasting blood samples were stored at -70°C until assayed for novel biomarkers in 2010-2013.
Context: UK Biobank is a prospective study of half a million subjects, almost all aged 40-69 years, identified in 22 centres across the UK during 2006-2010.
Objective: A healthy lifestyle has been described as 'better than any pill, and no side effects [5]. We therefore examined the relationships between healthy behaviours: low alcohol intake, non-smoking, healthy BMI, physical activity and a healthy diet, and the risk of all cancers, colon, breast and prostate cancers in a large dataset.
Objective: To examine a panel of 28 biomarkers for prediction of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and non-CVD mortality in a population-based cohort of men.
Methods: Starting in 1979, middle-aged men in Caerphilly underwent detailed medical examination. Subsequently 2171 men were re-examined during 1989-1993, and fasting blood samples obtained from 1911 men (88%).

Background: The care coordination workforce includes a range of clinicians who manage care for patients with multiple chronic conditions both within and outside a hospital, in the community, or in a patient's home. These patients require a multi-skilled approach to support complex care and social support needs as they are typically high users of health, community, and social services. In Australia, workforce structures have not kept pace with this new and emerging workforce.

Background: The concept of 'nursing sensitive indicators' is valuable to elaborate nursing care performance. The conceptual foundation, theoretical role, meaning, use and interpretation of the concept tend to differ.

Clear directions about best strategies to reduce recidivism among domestic violence offenders have remained elusive. The current study offers an initial evaluation of an RNR (Risk, Needs, and Responsivity)-focused second-responder program for men accused of assaulting their intimate partners and who were judged as being at moderate to high risk for re-offending. A quasi-experimental design was used to compare police outcomes for 40 men attending a second-responder intervention program to 40 men with equivalent levels of risk for re-offense who did not attend intervention (comparison group).

Australia has a long history of patient level costing initiated when casemix funding was implemented in several states in the early 1990s. Australia includes, to some extent, hospital payment based on nursing intensity adopted within casemix funding policy and the Diagnostic Related Group system. Costing of hospital nursing services in Australia has not changed significantly in the last few decades despite widespread introduction of casemix funding policy at the state level.
