Profession and role-based analysis of occupational exposure for COVID-19 among frontline healthcare workers in the pandemic: a risk assessment study.

Healthcare workers are exposed to a high risk of COVID-19 infection due to close contact with infected patients in healthcare centers. This study aimed to investigate the level of exposure and risk of COVID-19 virus infection among healthcare workers working in primary healthcare centers in Khuzestan province, Iran. This cross-sectional study was conducted among 599 healthcare workers working in primary healthcare centers in the northern region of Khuzestan province, Iran, in 2022.

Impact of Virtual Reality Task-Oriented Training on Upper Extremity Motor Function in Children With Cerebral Palsy: A Randomised Controlled Trial.

Background: This study aims to investigate the effect of a newly developed virtual reality task-oriented training (VR-TOT) video game on upper extremity fine motor function compared with conventional occupational therapy through leap motion in children with spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy (CP).

Methods: In this double-blind randomized clinical trial, 30 children with spastic hemiplegic CP aged six to 10 years were included and randomly allocated into two groups. During six weeks, 15 patients in the intervention group received VR_TOT-based video game in addition to conventional occupational therapy, whereas 15 patients in the control group received only conventional occupational therapy.

Methods: In this study, T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging of the cortex and subcortex was conducted on 92 individuals diagnosed with PD and 92 healthy controls (HCs). Severe Transverse Myelitis Following Ankle Surgery Potentially Unmasking Late-Onset Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.

A 70-year-old female underwent open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of her right ankle following a mechanical trip and fell two weeks before hospital admission. Two weeks following surgery, the patient experienced sudden-onset bilateral anterior thigh paresthesias and burning mid-back pain. Over the ensuing two days, the patient developed bilateral lower extremity weakness, bilateral lower extremity numbness, and urinary retention with constipation, which led to hospital presentation.

Introduction: In this study, a comprehensive search was conducted across multiple databases, including PubMed, Google Scholar, SID, Scopus, Medline, and Web of Science, as well as selected herbal medicine journals. The inclusion of herbal medicine journals was justified by the growing interest in green-synthesized nanoparticles derived from plant extracts, which are relevant to the focus of this review. Coronary artery calcification score as the determinant of coronary artery disease in chronic kidney disease patients: A preliminary study.

Background: Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) is a noninvasive cardiovascular imaging procedure that visualizes coronary artery calcifications (CAC), a marker of subclinical atherosclerosis. Due to different calcification patterns in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) compared to the general population, this study aims to present diagnostic cut-off values for CAC to detect early coronary artery disease (CAD) in CKD patients.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 807 patients: 407 with CKD and 400 controls with normal kidney function who underwent CCTA during 2019-2021.
