Several gaps persist in haptic device development due to the multifaceted nature of the sense of touch. Existing gaps include challenges enhancing touch feedback fidelity, providing diverse haptic sensations, and ensuring wearability for delivering tactile stimuli to the fingertips. Here, we introduce the Bioinspired Adaptable Multiplanar Haptic system, offering mechanotactile/steady and vibrotactile pulse stimuli with adjustable intensity (up to 298.

However, primary care and oral health care continue to operate separate from each other and fail to synchronize care for patients with T2DM and periodontitis. The purpose of this practice-based trial is to evaluate the implementation of a new integrated care pathway for patients with T2DM and periodontitis.

Objective: We hypothesized a disturbed interaction between osteoblasts and osteoclasts.
Design: Binational cross-sectional multicenter study.
Nephropathic cystinosis is an orphan autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disease characterized by a deficiency of cystinosin, a cystine transporter protein, leading to tissue damage, primarily in the kidney and cornea. With the introduction of cystine-depleting therapy with cysteamine and the possibility to survive to adulthood, new challenges of skeletal complications are a concern, with sparse data available regarding bone development. The aim of the current study was to gain more information on bone density and geometry in these patients.

When the soft robot interacts with the environment, the mediating fluid can also be considered an inherent information pathway for sensing. This approach to using structural tuning to improve the efficacy of a sensing task with specific states has not yet been well studied.

The aim of this cross-sectional study was to investigate neuromuscular complications in a cohort of 55 patients (aged 2.8-41.

A new material model for AISI 1045, which captures time-dependent plastic response associated with interrupted austenite transformation under short (sub-second) heating times, is deployed to simulate orthogonal cutting experiments. High speed video and digital image correlation measurements are used to capture chip behavior.

More specifically, we investigate the impact of stiffness variation of the probe to condition likelihood functions of the kinesthetic force and tactile sensors measurements during a palpation task for two sweeping directions. Using knowledge obtained from past probing trials or Finite Element (FE) simulations, we implemented this likelihood conditioning in an autonomous palpation control strategy.

Cystinosis is an autosomal recessive storage disease due to impaired transport of cystine out of lysosomes. Since the accumulation of intracellular cystine affects all organs and tissues, the management of cystinosis requires a specialized multidisciplinary team consisting of pediatricians, nephrologists, nutritionists, ophthalmologists, endocrinologists, neurologists' geneticists, and orthopedic surgeons. Treatment with cysteamine can delay or prevent most clinical manifestations of cystinosis, except the renal Fanconi syndrome.

Medical manikins play an essential role in the training process of physicians. Currently, most available simulators for abdominal palpation training do not contain controllable organs for dynamic simulations. In this paper, we present a soft robotics controllable liver that can simulate various liver diseases and symptoms for effective and realistic palpation training.

This paper presents a new design of the BirthSIM simulator. Its goal is to help obstetricians and midwives to train and improve their skills during childbirth delivery. The new version of the BirthSIM is more actuated than the previous version in order to be more biofidelic and cover various scenarios.

The HPA AR may vary with age and gender. To investigate these factors concurrently, the aims of the present study were to observe HPA AR (plasma ACTH and plasma cortisol) in response to a pharmacological challenge (dexamethasone/corticotropin releasing hormone test: DEX/CRH-test) and as a function of age and gender.

The corresponding alkynylated phosporamidites 3 and 6 were used as DNA building blocks for the preparation of alkyne-bearing DNA duplexes. The base pairs adjacent to the site of modification and the base opposite to it were varied in the DNA sequences.
