Background: Radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) is the gold standard treatment for upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC); however, patients presenting with small low-grade UTUC have been treated by flexible ureteroscopic laser ablation with good outcomes. Different types of laser have been discussed in the literature including Holmium and Neodymium lasers. We aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of Thulium laser (Tm:YAG) in the ureteroscopic ablation of UTUC.

Structural and DNA binding properties of mycobacterial integration host factor mIHF.

In bacteria, nucleoid associated proteins (NAPs) take part in active chromosome organization by supercoil management, three-dimensional DNA looping and direct transcriptional control. Mycobacterial integration host factor (mIHF, rv1388) is a NAP restricted to Actinobacteria and essential for survival of the human pathogen Mycobacterium tuberculosis. We show in vitro that DNA binding by mIHF strongly stabilizes the protein and increases its melting temperature.

There is a need to develop novel complementary interventions aimed at enhancing treatment engagement and/or response for veterans with psychiatric and substance use disorders. There is evidence that both mindfulness training and nature exposure (MT/NE) may be beneficial for this population and that combining the two approaches into one intervention might result in synergistic benefit. However, to date, the MT/NE concept has not been tested.

Observation of Electroweak Production of a Same-Sign W Boson Pair in Association with Two Jets in pp Collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV with the ATLAS Detector.

This Letter presents the observation and measurement of electroweak production of a same-sign W boson pair in association with two jets using 36.1  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13  TeV by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The analysis is performed in the detector fiducial phase-space region, defined by the presence of two same-sign leptons, electron or muon, and at least two jets with a large invariant mass and rapidity difference.

This rapid dietary shift leads to a significant public health concern, as wild-harvested country foods are rich in many micronutrients including vitamins, trace elements and minerals while the most frequently eaten Western foods mainly provide energy, fat, carbohydrates and sodium. This review addresses the emerging strategies to tackle food insecurity in this population.

Purpose: The aim of this systematic review is to summarize the contemporary literature on aquablation and evaluate its safety and efficacy for the treatment of symptomatic BPE.

Evidence Acquisition: A systematic search of English language literature was performed using the PubMed-MEDLINE and Web of Science libraries up to 24 July 2019 by combining PICO (patient population, intervention, comparison, and outcome) terms. Temporal Ordering in Endocytic Clathrin-Coated Vesicle Formation via AP2 Phosphorylation.

Clathrin-mediated endocytosis (CME) is key to maintaining the transmembrane protein composition of cells' limiting membranes. During mammalian CME, a reversible phosphorylation event occurs on Thr156 of the μ2 subunit of the main endocytic clathrin adaptor, AP2. Background In hereditary hyperferritinaemia-cataract syndrome (HHCS), single nucleic acid alterations in the ferritin light chain (L-ferritin) iron response element (IRE) constitutively derepress ferritin synthesis, resulting in hyperferritinaemia, L-ferritin deposits in the lens of the eye and early bilateral cataract onset. Methods In this study, six German families with putative HHCS were analysed. Clinical diagnosis of HHCS was based on medical history, evaluation of ferritin serum levels, transferrin saturation and clinical ophthalmological examination.

What Is the Required Certainty of Evidence for the Implementation of Novel Techniques for the Treatment of Benign Prostatic Obstruction?

Context: A large number of minimally invasive techniques have been developed for the surgical management of male lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) presumed to be secondary to benign prostatic obstruction (BPO) over the last 3 decades. Many have not stood the test of time often because they were overpromoted before there were sufficient data.

Objective: The scope of this paper is to consider whether new devices, for the treatment of male LUTS/BPO, have been implemented prematurely in the past.

Hypothermia protects retinal ganglion cells against hypoxia-induced cell death in a retina organ culture model.

Background: Hypoxia contributes to retinal damage in several retinal diseases, including central retinal artery occlusion, with detrimental consequences like painless, monocular loss of vision. Currently, the treatment options are severely limited due to the short therapy window, as the neuronal cells, especially the retinal ganglion cells (RGCs), are irreversibly damaged within the first few hours. Hypothermia might be a possible treatment option or at least might increase the therapy window.

Consultation on UTUC, Stockholm 2018: aspects of treatment.

Methods: In accordance with the standards for a scoping review, data presentation and discussion at the Consultation on UTUC in Stockholm, 6-7 September 2018, consensus was reached on the latest and most important treatment recommendations for UTUC. Using Pubmed, Web of Science, and Embase, publications were selected based on quality, clinical relevance, and level of evidence.

En bloc re-resection of high-risk NMIBC after en bloc resection: results of a multicenter observational study.

Purpose: To investigate the role of en bloc re-resection (EBRS) in patients who had undergone previous en bloc resection for high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC).

Methods: An international, multicenter, observational retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data. Patients with a high-risk NMIBC who had previously undergone en bloc resection were scheduled for EBRS of the resected area after 40 days.

Outcomes of ureteroscopy for stone disease in anomalous kidneys: a systematic review.

Introduction: Treatment of stone disease in anomalous kidneys can be challenging. As ureteroscopy (URS) has advanced, the number of studies reporting on outcomes of URS for stone disease in anomalous kidneys has increased. Our objective was to perform a systematic review of the literature to evaluate the outcomes of URS for stone disease in this group of patients.
