Accurate intra-operative Remaining Surgery Duration (RSD) predictions allow for anaesthetists to more accurately decide when to administer anaesthetic agents and drugs, as well as to notify hospital staff to send in the next patient. The p53 tumor suppressor is an indispensable regulator of DNA damage responses that accelerates carcinogenesis when mutated. In this report, we uncover a new mechanism by which p53 maintains genomic integrity in the absence of canonical DNA damage response activation. As population-based studies describing the characteristics of patients with refractory chronic cough (RCC) are sparse, the objective of this descriptive study was to identify and describe such patients using an algorithm developed for administrative claims databases and requiring validation in future. We identified adults with chronic cough (N = 782,121) from Optum Clinformatics™ Data Mart as individuals with a 'cough event' (primary cough event; based on ICD codes/relevant prescriptions) and ≥2 cough events in the 56-180 preceding days. We applied several exclusion criteria to identify potential RCC cases and stratified them into probable, possible, and unlikely RCC cohorts by the number of cough events during 1-year follow up (≥3, 1-2 or 0 events, respectively).

This article reports on an exploration of the Y-chromosome sub-haplogroup O2a2b-P164 in Austronesian-speaking populations. Moderate to high abundance of the P 164 mutation is seen in the West Pacific including the Amis of Formosa (36%) and the Filipinos of Mindanao (50%) as well as in the Kiritimati of Micronesia (70%), and Tonga and Samoa of West Polynesia (54% and 33%, respectively), and it drops to low frequencies in populations of East Polynesia. The communities of Polynesia and Micronesia exhibit considerable inter- and intra-population haplotype sharing suggesting extensive population affinity.

In this article, we delve into the synthesis, characterization, and potential catalytic activity of four complexes utilizing both monodentate and bidentate ferrocenyl diphenylphosphane ligands (ppf and dppf), coordinated with two gold(I) metal centers, linked by either chloride or pentafluorophenylthiolate bridging ligands.
