Materials And Methods: A triple-blinded, parallel groups, randomized clinical trial of 6 months duration, on patients with history of coronary heart disease and periodontitis in stages III or IV was performed. Intervention consisted of steps 1 (oral hygiene instructions and professional mechanical plaque removal) and 2 (subgingival instrumentation) of periodontal therapy, including an antiseptic mouth rinse for 7 days.
Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) arising from myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) is a unique subtype of secondary AML (sAML) with poor prognosis. We defined its epidemiologic profile in older adults.
Methods: Using the SEER-Medicare database, we identified MDS cases that progressed to AML between 2007 and 2017, during the era of hypomethylating agents (HMA).
Aim: To evaluate in vitro the antibacterial efficacy and cytocompatibility of different implant-decontamination methods, using both 2D and 3D peri-implant mucosa models.
Methods: Four decontamination methods [chlorhexidine (CHX), electrolytic treatment (GS), curcumin (CUR), xanthohumol (XN)] were compared in four independent experiments, three with a 2D peri-implant mucosa model on titanium surfaces and another on a 3D peri-implant mucosa model. These decontamination procedures were tested for their antibacterial effect using a multispecies biofilm model with Streptococcus oralis, Actinomyces naeslundii, Veillonella dispar, and Porphyromonas gingivalis for 24 h.

Methods: One-hundred and four pregnant women were recruited at 24-30 gestation weeks. GDM was diagnosed by an oral glucose tolerance test.
Aim: To assess the correlation between micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) and linear morphometric measurements in terms of mandibular bone levels in a modified experimental periodontitis model in rodents to study the mechanisms of association between periodontal destruction and neuroinflammation.
