Single-nucleus RNA-seq dissection of choroid plexus tumor cell heterogeneity.

The genomic, genetic and cellular events regulating the onset, growth and survival of rare, choroid plexus neoplasms remain poorly understood. Here, we examine the heterogeneity of human choroid plexus tumors by single-nucleus transcriptome analysis of 23,906 cells from four disease-free choroid plexus and eleven choroid plexus tumors. The resulting expression atlas profiles cellular and transcriptional diversity, copy number alterations, and cell-cell interaction networks in normal and cancerous choroid plexus.

Increasing Neurosurgical Resident Research Productivity Through Cultural Shift: Choosing Carrots Over Sticks.

Introduction As part of the Milestones Initiative of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), residents in neurosurgery are expected to participate in either clinical research or basic science research. Therefore, each neurosurgical training program must offer the support and opportunity to achieve this goal. In 2012, a structured effort to promote a resident culture of research was introduced into the authors' neurosurgery residency training curriculum.

However, it remains unclear whether these findings translate to humans. This study investigated whether oral administration of AMD reduces spontaneous cardiac and sympathetic baroreflex sensitivity and perturbs BP regulation in healthy young humans.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is associated with increased cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. Compared with males, females are twice as likely to develop PTSD after trauma exposure, and cardiovascular reactivity to stress is a known risk factor for CVD. We aimed to examine hemodynamic responses to acute mental stress in trauma-exposed females with and without a clinical diagnosis of PTSD.

The prevention school diary: Evaluability assessment of a widely adopted intervention in Ile-de-France.

Objectives: The prevention school diary is distributed each year to children aged between 10 and 11 years old by La Ligue contre le cancer, a French association promoting prevention and research against cancer. While they write their homework in the diary, children can learn about a range of health determinants. This diary promotes health in a fun and educational way, as it integrates drawings made by children about the different themes covered by the diary.

Impact of extramedullary multiple myeloma on outcomes with idecabtagene vicleucel.

Idecabtagene vicleucel (Ide-cel) has demonstrated excellent efficacy and durable responses in patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). However, the outcomes with ide-cel in patients with extramedullary disease (EMD) remain incompletely characterized. We included patients with RRMM treated with ide-cel between May 2021 and April 2023 across 11 US academic institutions.

Outcomes of Human Leukocyte Antigen-Matched Related Donor and Haploidentical Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation Recipients by Immune Profiles of Recipients and Donors.

Haploidentical (Haplo) allogeneic HCTs (alloHCT) have been used more frequently over the last decade as survival is similar to HLA-matched related donor (MRD) alloHCTs. We aimed to identify donor and recipient immune signatures before alloHCT that are associated with clinically meaningful outcomes in MRD vs Haplo alloHCT recipients. This retrospective cohort study of 165 MRD (n = 132) and Haplo (n = 33) alloHCT recipients and their related donors between 2007-2019 with paired peripheral blood samples immunophenotyped for T-cell, B-cell, NK cell and dendritic cell (DC) subsets.

Development and evaluation of a food literacy questionnaire for schoolchildren in France.

Food literacy is gaining importance in nutrition education programs for children. To date, food literacy assessment tools have been developed in many countries, however, none exist in France. The objectives of this study were to develop a questionnaire and to evaluate its measurement properties among French schoolchildren aged 8-11 years.

Real-world and clinical trial outcomes in large B-cell lymphoma with axicabtagene ciloleucel across race and ethnicity.

Axicabtagene ciloleucel (axi-cel) is an autologous anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy approved for relapsed/refractory (R/R) large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL). Despite extensive data supporting its use, outcomes stratified by race and ethnicity groups are limited. Here, we report clinical outcomes with axi-cel in patients with R/R LBCL by race and ethnicity in both real-world and clinical trial settings.

Insights of undergraduate health sciences students about a French interprofessional training initiative.

Background: Incorporating interprofessional collaboration within healthcare is critical to delivery of patient-centered care. Interprofessional Education (IPE) programs are key to promoting such collaboration. The 'Public Health Service' (PHS) in France is a mandatory IPE initiative that embodies this collaborative spirit, bringing together students from varied health undergraduate training programs-nursing, physiotherapy, pharmacy, midwifery, and medicine- in a common training program focused on primary prevention.

Do Proton Pump Inhibitors Reduce Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding in Older Patients with Atrial Fibrillation Treated with Oral Anticoagulants? A Nationwide Cohort Study in France.

Background: Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are largely used in older adults and data are needed in off-label indications, such as the prevention of upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) in patients receiving oral anticoagulants (OACs). This study aimed to assess whether PPIs reduce the risk of UGIB in patients initiating oral anticoagulation.

Objective: This study evaluated the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccine perceptions on Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine hesitancy. Secondary endpoints included comparing COVID-19 and HPV vaccination trends regarding time, community of residence, and unmet social needs.

Methods: This was a survey-based, cross-sectional study that included 101 participants who were recruited through the Wyandotte County Public Health Department.

Background: Mandatory "sanitary service" is an inter-disciplinary health promotion program that ensures inclusion of action training in the curriculum of French students in healthcare professions. Its evaluation is important to identify areas for improvement.

Background: High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a less invasive option offered for the treatment of large, compressive, benign thyroid nodules.

Methods: Observational studies of more than five participants using HIFU in the management of benign thyroid nodules from 2000 to 2021 were identified using predefined inclusion criteria. The primary outcome was an estimate of the effectiveness of HIFU.

Botox for the prevention of radiation-induced Sialadenitis and xerostomia in head and neck cancer patients: A pilot study.

Background: To determine the safety of Botox and its potential effect on alleviating radiation therapy (RT)-induced sialadenitis in head and neck cancer patients.

Methods: Twenty patients with stage III/IV head and neck cancer were randomized to receive Botox or saline injections into both submandibular glands (SMG). There were three visits: one before RT (V1); 1 week after RT (V2); and 6 weeks after RT (V3), each of which included saliva collection, a 24-h dietary recall, and a quality-of-life survey.
