Background: Vitamin D deficiency has been associated with an accelerated deterioration in lung function and increased exacerbations in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). 25(OH) vitamin D levels have been indicated as a potentially useful marker for adverse results related to COPD. Methods: VITADEPOC is a cross-sectional clinical study recruiting consecutive patients with high-risk COPD.

To avoid the situation where the fragility of the membranes causes them to break during the lithography process, it has been found that the spin coating of the resist must be applied in two steps. The MTXM results show that our samples have a central domain wall, as well as other types of domain walls, if the nanostructures are wide enough.

Methods: A multidisciplinary panel of experts on comorbidity was established. Data from the GECOAR, GECOAX and GECOAP projects were analysed and a narrative literature review in Medline on RA, axSpA and PsA comorbidity was performed in order to select the most relevant and common comorbidities across the three diseases.

Objective: To develop recommendations on the evaluation and management procedure in patients undergoing total knee replacement based on best evidence and the experience of a panel of experts.
Methods: A multidisciplinary group of 12 experts was selected that defined the scope, users and the document parts. Three systematic reviews were performed in patients undergoing knee replacement: (i)efficacy and safety of fast-tracks; (ii)efficacy and safety of cognitive interventions in patients with catastrophic pain, and (iii) efficacy and safety of acute post-surgical pain management on post-surgical outcomes.
Objectives: To identify priorities among comorbidities in axial spondyloarthritis (AxSpA) and recommend how to follow them from an eminently practical perspective.
Methods: A multidisciplinary group was selected (10 rheumatologists-six of them experts in AxSpA-, 2 general practitioners, an internist, a cardiologist, a gastroenterologist and a psychologist). In a first discussion meeting, the scope and users were established and a list of comorbidities was voted based on frequency and impact.
The objective is to establish recommendations, based on evidence and expert opinion, for the identification and management of comorbidities in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). The following techniques were applied: discussion group, systematic review, and Delphi survey for agreement. A panel of professionals from four specialties defined the users, the sections of the document, possible recommendations, and what systematic reviews should be performed.

This has led to a great number of articles on different aspects associated with COPD each year. There is increasingly greater emphasis made of the systemic repercussions of the diseases and its comorbidity.

Different factors affect this control, and there are several regional differences, both in terms of prevalence and in terms of management and degree of control.
Objective: To evaluate the factors associated with control of severe asthma in routine clinical practice.
Background: Clinical decisions on whether to follow up or remove small and medium congenital melanocytic nevi (SMCMN) in children have cost implications that have not been studied.
Objectives: To compare the costs of excision of SMCMN in children with lifelong follow-up in a tertiary center.
Methods And Materials: We elaborated models for the evaluation of the costs of excision and long-term follow-up.

Granuloma annulare is a benign, relatively common dermatosis in childhood. The subcutaneous form is rare, and lesions typically occur on the legs, buttocks and scalp. We report a case of a deep granuloma annulare confined to the palms of the hands in a 2-year-old child.

It has been implicated in the development of follicular pityriasis, rosacea-like demodicidosis, pustular folliculitis, blepharitis, and granulomatous rosacea.

We believe it to be the second case of congenital CMF that has been documented, and the third case of CMF arising in the ethmoid. We describe the radiographic features of this rare entity and indicate the necessity for careful correlation between radiographic and histological findings to distinguish CMF from chondrosarcoma.

Tumors of the craniofacial bones are extremely rare and most often involve the mandible and the maxilla. This report presents the clinicopathological and radiological features of two unusual cases of CMF arising in the paranasal sinuses that presented with nasal obstruction.

The tear film lipid layer of 104 subjects under conditions of normal ("baseline") blinking and "forceful" blinking was quantitated on the basis of specific interference colors. Deliberate, forceful blinking was found to significantly increase the lipid layer thickness (LLT) of the tear film.
