Background: Emerging evidence suggests that endovascular thrombectomy is beneficial for treatment of childhood stroke, but the safety and effectiveness of endovascular thrombectomy has not been compared with best medical treatment. We aimed to prospectively analyse functional outcomes of endovascular thrombectomy versus best medical treatment in children with intracranial arterial occlusion stroke.
Methods: In this prospective registry study, 45 centres in 12 countries across Asia and Australia, Europe, North America, and South America reported functional outcomes for children aged between 28 days and 18 years presenting with arterial ischaemic stroke caused by a large-vessel or medium-vessel occlusion who received either endovascular thrombectomy plus best medical practice or best medical treatment alone.
Objective: Until now, giant intracranial aneurysms (GIAs) have in many cases been a vascular disease that was difficult or impossible to treat, not least due to the lack of availability of a large-format stent. In this multicentre study, we report on the first five clinical applications of the Accero-Rex-Stents (Acandis, Pforzheim, Germany) in the successful treatment of fusiform cerebral giant aneurysms.
Material And Methods: The Accero-Rex-Stents are self-expanding, braided, fully radiopaque Nitinol stents designed for aneurysm treatment.
Objective: Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) has become the standard treatment for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) with large vessel occlusion (LVO). First-pass (FP) reperfusion of the occluded vessel and fewer passes with stent retrievers show improvement in functional outcomes in stroke patients, while higher numbers of passes are associated with higher complication rates and worse outcomes. Studies indicate that a larger size of the stent-retriever is associated with a higher rate of first-pass reperfusion and improved clinical outcomes.

Therapy is based on anti-biotic treatment of the tick-borne disease, whereas interventional therapeutic options have not been assessed yet.
Material And Methods: We report on a patient with LNB and concomitant stenoses and progressive and fatal vasculitis of the cerebral vessels despite all therapeutic efforts by the departments of neurology and interventional neuroradiology.
Background: Celiac axis stenosis (CAS) often is an incidental finding in terms of diagnostic for hepatobiliary surgery since most cases remain asymptomatic. It remains unclear whether CAS is a risk factor for postoperative complications after hepatobiliary surgery. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of an asymptomatic CAS on the postoperative morbidity and survival of patients undergoing hepatobiliary surgery.

This study describes clinical and imaging characteristics of patients with COVID-19 infection who presented with intracranial bleeding in a European multicenter cohort.
Methods: This is a multicenter retrospective, observational case series including 18 consecutive patients with COVID-19 infection and intracranial hemorrhage.
Extracellular pH and the Na(+)/H(+) exchanger (NHE1) modulate tumor cell migration. Yet, the pH nanoenvironment at the outer surface of the cell membrane (pH(em)) where cell/matrix interaction occurs and matrix metalloproteinases work was never measured. We present a method to measure this pH nanoenvironment using proton-sensitive dyes to label the outer leaflet of the plasma membrane or the glycocalyx of human melanoma cells.
