Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) reshapes and challenges psychological ownership of created content. This article examines how GenAI disrupts original content creators' and GenAI users' sense of ownership and control and illustrates how both can perceive the illusion, dilution, and potential loss of control and ownership of content in the GenAI era.

Here, we aimed to identify factors associated with hemorrhage and present the pituitary hormonal status before and after transnasal-transsphenoidal tumor removal in a comparative study design.
Methods: A series of 100 patients with PitNet were analyzed.
Background: Pulmonary microvasculature alterations are implicated in emphysema pathogenesis, but the association between pulmonary microvascular blood volume (PMBV) and emphysema has not been directly assessed at scale, and prior studies have used non-specific measures of emphysema.
Methods: The Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis Lung Study invited participants recruited from the community without renal impairment to undergo contrast-enhanced dual-energy CT. Pulmonary blood volume was calculated by material decomposition; PMBV was defined as blood volume in the peripheral 2 cm of the lung.
Background: Lung structure and cardiac structure and function are associated cross-sectionally. The classic literature suggests relationships of airways disease to cor pulmonale and emphysema to reduced cardiac output (CO) but longitudinal data are lacking.
Methods: The Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA) COPD Study was a multicentre longitudinal COPD case-control study of participants 50-79 years with ≥10 pack-years smoking without clinical cardiovascular disease.
Background And Objectives: Cavernous sinus meningiomas (CSM) pose one of the most difficult to treat subgroup of skull base meningiomas. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of an interdisciplinary treatment approach for symptomatic CSM which incorporated conservative function preserving microsurgery and routine adjuvant fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (FSRT).
Methods: A homogenous group of patients with symptomatic primary CSM with extracavernous extension was treated between 2005 and 2012.
Introduction: Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (Ph+ALL) is treated as standard of care (SoC) by imatinib-based treatment combined with induction and consolidation chemotherapy followed by allogeneic stem cell transplantation (SCT) in first remission. The German Multicenter ALL Study Group for Adult ALL (GMALL) reports about a trial to evaluate the impact of ponatinib-based therapy, blinatumomab treatment for suboptimal responders, and the possibility of omission of SoC Allo SCT in optimal responders entitled GMALL-EVOLVE.
Methods: Herein, imatinib is randomized versus ponatinib as frontline treatment combined with chemotherapy, optimal responders also get randomized between SCT and chemo-immunotherapy, and suboptimal responders receive immunotherapy before SCT.
Purpose: Placement of an external ventricular drainage (EVD) is one of the most frequent procedures in neurosurgery, but it has specific challenges and risks in the pediatric population. We here investigate the indications, management, and shunt conversion rates of an EVD.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of a consecutive series of pediatric patients who had an EVD placement in the Department of Neurosurgery at Hannover Medical School over a 12-year period.
Objective: Evaluation at long term of the impact of the stereotactic surgery (SRS) on the vestibular function in vestibular schwannoma (VS) patients.
Study Design And Setting: Retrospective study in a tertiary referral center.
Patients: Fifty-one VS patients were included (34 females;17 males), aged from 41 to 78 years treated exclusively with SRS.
Primates face severe challenges from climate change, with warming expected to increase animals' thermoregulatory demands. Primates have limited long-term options to cope with climate change, but possess a remarkable capacity for behavioral plasticity. This creates an urgency to better understand the behavioral mechanisms primates use to thermoregulate.

However, their properties and mechanism of action still have many open questions. Their heme-containing active site is buried by three conserved flexible loops with a putative role in modulating substrate access and enzyme catalysis.

The molecular mechanisms underlying these changes are poorly understood in patients, in part because of the inaccessibility of the pulmonary vasculature. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) interact with the pulmonary endothelium.

Among the many changes that occur during this period early in life, there is growing evidence that the establishment of healthy gut microbiota plays an important role in the prevention of both short- and long-term health problems. Numerous publications suggest that the quality of the gut microbiota colonisation depends on several dietary factors, including breastfeeding.

Activated monocytes/macrophages that produce inflammatory cytokines and nitric oxide are crucial for controlling infection. We previously showed that uninfected newborns from infected mothers (M+B- newborns) were sensitized to produce higher levels of inflammatory cytokines than newborns from uninfected mothers (M-B- newborns), suggesting that their monocytes were more activated. Thus, we wondered whether these cells might help limit congenital infection.

Liver cirrhosis is the end stage of all chronic liver diseases and contributes significantly to overall mortality of 2% globally. The age-standardized mortality from liver cirrhosis in Europe is between 10 and 20% and can be explained by not only the development of liver cancer but also the acute deterioration in the patient's overall condition. The development of complications including accumulation of fluid in the abdomen (ascites), bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract (variceal bleeding), bacterial infections, or a decrease in brain function (hepatic encephalopathy) define an acute decompensation that requires therapy and often leads to acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) by different precipitating events.

In preterm infants, sterilized donor milk (DM) is frequently used for their feeding. We aimed to identify differences in the metabolome of DM after two types of milk sterilization: the Holder pasteurization (HoP) and a high hydrostatic pressure (HP) processing.

It consisted of a compensation for beam hardening and other non-linear effects that affect the energy dependency of the linear attenuation coefficient (LAC) in the chosen energy domain, followed by a 3D fast reconstruction algorithm capable of reconstructing the local LAC values for 64 energy values from 19.8 to 158.

In addition to anatomical constraints that lead to a difficult resection, the reconstruction of the resulting defect is demanding. Uniform recommendations concerning the best reconstruction technique are not available in the existing literature.

Shunting prior to posterior fossa surgery (PFS) is mostly reserved for symptomatic cases or special circumstances. There are limited data regarding the anticipated risk for symptomatic pneumocephalus and the perioperative management using the semi-sitting position (SSP) in such a scenario.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: The semi-sitting position for resection of posterior fossa tumors is a matter of ongoing debate. Here we report about our experience with this approach in children younger than 4 years of age.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data of children younger than 4 years of age operated on in our institution in the semi-sitting position over a 15-year period.

Background: The pulmonary vasculature is essential for gas exchange and impacts both pulmonary and cardiac function. However, it is difficult to assess and its characteristics in the general population are unknown. We measured pulmonary blood volume (PBV) noninvasively using contrast enhanced, dual-energy computed tomography to evaluate its relationship to age and symptoms among older adults in the community.

Elucidating this role is complicated, however, because each TP53 mutation subtype exhibits unique phenotypic responses to changes in iron availability. The goal of this work was to determine how cells expressing distinct TP53 mutation subtypes respond to iron restriction.
