Design: A randomized controlled study was carried out on 60 patients diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis according to American College of Rheumatology. The patients were randomized into the following three treatments: (1) continuous US (at a frequency of 1 MHz with intensity of 1 W/cm), (2) pulse US (same frequency and intensity on 1:4 pulse ratio), and (3) sham US.

Objective: This study was designed to determine the length of hospital stay and treatment costs of patients with osteoporotic hip fractures in Turkey.
Methods: A total of 1,118 osteoporotic hip fractures taken from patient records in 35 hospitals connected to a Disease Related Group (DRG) network were included in the study. Inclusion criteria were patients over the age of fifty with a diagnosis of a single, low-energy fracture located at the neck, head, or intertrochanteric region of the femur treated with total/hemi-arthroplasty, screw or nail methods.
Objectives: To evaluate quality of life (QoL) and related variables in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), a chronic inflammatory disease of the spine.
Methods: Nine-hundred and sixty-two patients with AS from the Turkish League Against Rheumatism AS Registry, who fulfilled the modified New York criteria, were enrolled. The patients were evaluated using the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis International Society core outcome domains including Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI), fatigue (BASDAI-question 1), pain (last week/spine/due to AS), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Metrology Index (BASMI), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Radiology Index (BASRI), Maastricht Ankylosing Spondylitis Enthesitis Score (MASES) and two QoL questionnaires (the disease-specific ASQoL and generic the Short Form-36 [SF-36]).
Objective: To determine the efficacy of neck stabilization exercises in the management of neck pain.
Patients And Methods: Sixty patients with neck pain were randomized to 3 groups, as follows: group 1--physical therapy agents including transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, continuous ultrasound and infra-red irradiation; group 2--physical therapy agents + isometric and stretching exercises; and group 3--physical therapy agents + neck stabilization exercises. The exercises were performed as a home training programme following a 3-week supervised group exercise.
Objective: The Neck Disability Index, the Northwick Park Pain Questionnaire, the Copenhagen Neck Functional Disability Scale and the Neck Pain and Disability Scale are widely used scales for assessing neck pain or disability. The aim of this study was to determine the most suitable scale for Turkish patients with neck pain.
Methods: All scales were translated into Turkish, administered to 102 patients with neck pain, then compared with regard to their construct validity, reliability, responsiveness, acceptability and usefulness.
This case report demonstrates the importance of the CISS sequence, a fast imaging technique in MRI, in case of suspected nerve root avulsion. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed consecutive radiographs of 226 knees that were obtained at the end of sixth week, third, sixth, and twelfth months following TKA. The radiographic diagnosis of HO was based on the comparison of pre- and postoperative serial radiographs.
