Inferior vena cava (IVC) injuries can have fatal outcomes and are associated with high mortality rates. Patients with IVC injuries require multiple procedures, including prehospital care, surgical techniques, and postoperative care. We present the case of a 67-year-old woman who stabbed herself in the abdomen with a knife, resulting in an infrarenal IVC injury.

EEG Dataset for the Recognition of Different Emotions Induced in Voice-User Interaction.

Electroencephalography (EEG)-based open-access datasets are available for emotion recognition studies, where external auditory/visual stimuli are used to artificially evoke pre-defined emotions. In this study, we provide a novel EEG dataset containing the emotional information induced during a realistic human-computer interaction (HCI) using a voice user interface system that mimics natural human-to-human communication. To validate our dataset via neurophysiological investigation and binary emotion classification, we applied a series of signal processing and machine learning methods to the EEG data.

Characteristics of Korean medical care utilization in patients with traffic injury: Analysis of 3 hospital electronic health record databases.

This retrospective study aimed to identify the characteristics of Korean medical care utilization in patients with traffic injury (TI) and to explore the clinical effectiveness of Korean medical interventions for TI through a multicenter chart review. This multicenter, retrospective registry study gathered electronic health records from 3 hospitals between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2021. Data included treatment dates, demographic information, the Korean Standard Classification of Diseases codes, collision data, Korean medicine treatment modalities, and treatment outcomes.

Ultrasound-guidance is applied during the administration of Korean medicine (KM) interventions to improve the safety and effectiveness of the interventions. Although many case series and reports on the use of ultrasound-guided KM interventions have been reported, no study has investigated the current use of ultrasound-guidance in clinical practice by doctors of Korean medicine (KMDs). An online survey was conducted with questions examining the status of ultrasound-guidance usage among KMDs practicing in various KM clinical settings.

In this study, the complete mitogenome of the entomopathogenic fungus 15 R, which is highly virulent to aphids and was isolated from Korean soil, was assembled and annotated for three ATP synthase subunits (6, 8, and 9), three cytochrome oxidase subunits (1, , and 3), apocytochrome b (), seven subunits of NADH dehydrogenase (12344L5, and 6), two ribosomal RNAs ( and ), and 19 tRNA genes. Five genes were carrying a total of eight introns, and they may encode ribosomal protein S3, LAGLIDADG and GIY-YIG endonucleases. Phylogenetic analysis based on the mitochondrial nucleotide sequence confirmed that the 15 R is a member of the Clavicipitaceae, and is closely related to the species and The mtDNA base sequence of the 15 R strain reported in this study is thought to be useful for biological resource genetic data.
