Introduction: Evidence on the pre-clinical and clinical performance of internationally trained dental students compared with domestic students and competency standards is limited. The aim of this study was to compare, relatively and normatively, the psychomotor skills of domestic and internationally trained dental students who participated in the same pre-clinical, 9-week, fixed prosthodontics course.
Materials And Methods: Course grades were collected for a total of 224 domestic and 66 internationally trained dental students between 2014 and 2020.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by joint swelling, pain, and bone remodeling. We previously reported that autotaxin (ATX) deficiency disrupts lipid rafts in macrophages. Lipid raft disruption results in the dysregulation of RANK signaling, which is crucial for osteoclastogenesis and the pathogenesis of RA.

Medication burden can serve as a clinically relevant risk indicator for cardiovascular events and all-cause death in patients on maintenance hemodialysis.
Background: A high medication burden is associated with adverse outcomes.
Objectives: To compare the biomechanics of labial and lingual fixed orthodontic treatment options for a simulated curve of Spee malocclusion.
Materials And Methods: An in vitro electromechanical orthodontic simulator was used to measure the three-dimensional forces and moments on each tooth of a mandibular arch. Labial and lingual brackets, both with 0.
Objective: Growing demand for embryo transfer is steadily expanding and further studies on in vitro fertilization of cattle. To assess the effect of calcium lactate by replacing Tyrode's Albumin Lactate Pyruvate (TALP) medium composition during fertilization and embryonic development.
Methods: Sodium lactate and CaCl2 were replaced with 2.
Receptor kinase (RK) families process information from small molecules, short peptides, or glycan ligands to regulate core cellular pathways in plants. To date, whether individual plant RKs are capable of processing signals from distinct types of ligands remains largely unexplored. Addressing this requires the discovery of structurally unrelated ligands that engage the same receptor.

Research Question: Does perioperative PAC use decrease 1-year all-cause mortality in patients undergoing cardiac surgery?.
Study Design And Methods: This nationwide, population-based cohort study included all adult patients who underwent cardiac surgery in Korea between January 2011 and December 2020, using a Korean health insurance claim database.
In this high-throughput proteomic study of autosomal dominant Alzheimer's disease (ADAD), we sought to identify early biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) for disease monitoring and treatment strategies. We examined CSF proteins in 286 mutation carriers (MCs) and 177 non-carriers (NCs). The developed multi-layer regression model distinguished proteins with different pseudo-trajectories between these groups.

Of immune cells involved in atherosclerosis, the role of CCR2+ (CC motif chemokine receptor 2-positive) proinflammatory macrophages is well documented. However, there is no noninvasive approach to determine the changes of these cells in vivo following ICI treatment and explore the underlying mechanisms of immune-related adverse events.

Methods: 38 teeth distributed across three human cadavers were prepared by placing two notches on the facial enamel surface. The maxillary and mandibular teeth were imaged with a custom-designed intraoral 20 MHz ultrasound and µCT with 0.
The analysis of membrane vesicles at the nanoscale level is crucial for advancing the understanding of intercellular communication and its implications for health and disease. Despite their significance, the nanoscale analysis of vesicles at the single particle level faces challenges owing to their small size and the complexity of biological fluids. This new vesicle analysis tool leverages the single-molecule sensitivity of super-resolution microscopy (SRM) and the high-throughput analysis capability of deep-learning algorithms.

Our study aimed to identify factors affecting overall satisfaction and operational status from the perspective of teachers participating in the SSPP.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional study analyzing data from a survey regarding the operation of an SSPP conducted by the Korea Health Promotion Institute in 2022.
Sex and age are major risk factors for chronic diseases. Recent studies examining age-related molecular changes in plasma provided insights into age-related disease biology. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) proteomics can provide additional insights into brain aging and neurodegeneration.

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) can lead to stroke, heart failure, and mortality and has a greater prevalence in dialysis patients than in the general population. Several studies have suggested that uremic toxins may contribute to the development of AF. However, the association between dialysis adequacy and incident AF has not been well established.
