Nanoparticles are increasingly being used by industry to enhance the outcomes of various chemical processes. In many cases, these processes involve over-dosages that compensate for particle losses. At best, these unique waste streams end up in landfills.

In this study, a novel approach, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), was used to examine the pore characteristics of chitosan scaffolds under aqueous conditions. The EIS was run with a constant current of 0.1 mA with the frequency sweep of 10(6) to 10(-4) Hz.
