Purpose: Men on active surveillance (AS) for prostate cancer are extremely interested in dietary changes or supplements to prevent progression of their disease. We sought to determine whether a high omega-3, low omega-6 fatty acid diet with fish oil capsules (D + FO) decreases proliferation (Ki-67) in prostate biopsies in men with prostate cancer on AS over a 1-year time period.

Objective: To investigate the proportion of low-density granulocytes (LDGs), circulating plasma neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), and serum-induced NET formation in patients with incomplete systemic lupus erythematosus (iSLE) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Methods: LDGs were measured cross-sectionally in 18 iSLE patients, 11 SLE patients and 14 healthy controls (HCs), whereas circulating NETs and serum-induced NET formation were assessed in 35 iSLE patients, 41 SLE patients and 16 HCs. The objective of this study was to transfer the concept of ductile particle reinforcement to restorative dentistry and to introduce an innovative glass ionomer material that is based on the dispersion of PEG-PU micelles. The climate effects of atmospheric aerosol particles serving as cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) depend on chemical composition and hygroscopicity, which are highly variable on spatial and temporal scales. Here we present global CCN measurements, covering diverse environments from pristine to highly polluted conditions. We show that the effective aerosol hygroscopicity, κ, can be derived accurately from the fine aerosol mass fractions of organic particulate matter (ϵ) and inorganic ions (ϵ) through a linear combination, κ = ϵ ⋅ κ + ϵ ⋅ κ.

This study reports results from research conducted at the Observatory of Mount Pico (OMP), 2225 m above mean sea level on Pico Island in the Azores archipelago in June and July 2017. We investigated the chemical composition, mixing state, and cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) activities of long-range transported free tropospheric (FT) particles. FLEXible PARTicle Lagrangian particle dispersion model (FLEXPART) simulations reveal that most air masses that arrived at the OMP during the sampling period originated in North America and were highly aged (average plume age > 10 days).

This study investigated differences between cochlear implant users and normal-hearing peers in the clustering and time course of word retrieval during phonological and semantic verbal fluency tasks.
