Background: Not all breast cancer (BC) patients can benefit from neoadjuvant therapy (NAT). A poor response may result in patients missing the best opportunity for treatment, ultimately leading to a poor prognosis. Thus, to identify an effective predictor that can assess and predict patient response at early time points, we focused on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), which is a vital noninvasive liquid biopsy biomarker.

Addressing this, we aim to develop a prognostic model to refine adjuvant therapy strategies, particularly for patients at high recurrence risk. Notably, obesity profoundly affects the tumor microenvironment (TME) of LBC.

While the systemic effects of obesity have been extensively studied, less is known about the mechanisms underlying obesity-associated cancer risk and the local consequences of obesity. Thus, obesity-induced inflammation has become the focus of research interest.

In March of 2011, sediment samples were collected from three representative locations along the Pearl River. The characteristics of vertical distribution of PAHs as well as denitrifying genes in the sediment samples were analyzed.

A novel type of anti and syn isomers of a pentacyclic compound consisting of two thiophene rings and one pyrrole ring were efficiently synthesized from benzo[b]thiophene, and the anti isomer exhibits better charge transport and OFET properties compared with the syn isomer and its N-hexyl substitution.

To better understand the mechanisms of eutrophication, we addressed the microbial processes that influence many key aspects of water-sediment systems. In this study, a large column experiment was conducted for 30 d. Along the column, solution samples were collected at different locations at different time.

Single-crystal X-ray results demonstrate that 5,6-dipropyldiindolo[3,2-b:4,5-b']thiophene (4b) forms a herringbone-type of packing motif and 5,6-di(p-tolyl)diindolo[3,2-b:4,5-b']thiophene (4d) forms a parallel packing motif. Both of them have S-S contacts, enhancing the electronic transport between molecules.

The TBNDIs are the key precursors for the synthesis of core-tetrasubstituted-naphthalene diimides.
