Arteriovenous thrombosis, a complication of induction therapy with all-trans retinoic acid for acute promyelocytic leukemia: A case report.

We report a case of arterial and venous thrombosis during induction therapy. This case emphasizes considering some degree of caution for thrombotic events in APL patients which was represented in our case as abdominal pain. Rapid initiation of anticoagulation and preventive measures is suggested for better management of the condition.

Isolated hyperbilirubinemia as the manifestation of acute liver failure in a patient with acute myelogenous leukemia and COVID-19 infection.

Acute liver failure is a rare but catastrophic syndrome. Liver function tests usually reveal cholestatic or hepatocellular pattern, but in this case, we report a previously undescribed manifestation of this condition as isolated hyperbilirubinemia. Our patient was a 50 years old male who was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML(M4)).

Evaluation of iron overload by cardiac and liver T2* in β-thalassemia: Correlation with serum ferritin, heart function and liver enzymes.

In this study, we aimed to assess the relationship of cardiac and hepatic T2* magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) values as a gold standard for detecting iron overload with serum ferritin level, heart function, and liver enzymes as alternative diagnostic methods. A total 58 patients with beta-thalassemia major who were all transfusion dependent were evaluated for the study. T2* MRI of heart and liver, echocardiography, serum ferritin level, and liver enzymes measurement were performed.
