Glaciers retreat rapidly and create newly exposed terrestrial and aquatic habitats in glacier forefields, where primary succession proceeds synchronously in glacier forefields. Here, we introduced the "Dual-Domain Primary Succession" concept to examine the parallel yet distinct primary succession processes in soil and stream ecosystems within glacier forefields, by focusing on Hailuogou Glacier and Urumqi Glacier No.1 in China.

Deep close distance coal seam mining is affected by the goaf of upper coal and remaining coal pillar, and the roadway of lower coal is difficult to maintain stability. By means of theoretical analysis, physical simulation test and numerical simulation, this paper analyzes the failure characteristics of roadway in deep close distance coal seam and the evolution law of stress field, and optimizes the reasonable layout of lower coal roadway. The results show that: (1) The analytical formula of the evolution of the floor principal stress difference with depth is derived theoretically, and the distribution law of the shear stress of the rock mass in the floor of the coal seam is obtained.

Polysaccharide decolorization is a key determinant of polysaccharide structure. In this study, two purified polysaccharides, RGP-1-A and RGP-2-A, were obtained after decolorization using the AB-8 macroporous resin and HO, respectively. RGP-1-A (molecular weight (Mw) = 18,964 Da) and RGP-2-A (Mw = 3305 Da) were acidic and neutral heteropolysaccharides, respectively, and were both polycrystalline in structure.

Electrochemical cycling stabilities were compared for undoped and Al/Co dual-doped spinel LiMn2O4 synthesized by solid state reactions. We observed the suppression of particle fracture in Al/Co dual-doped LiMn2O4 during charge/discharge cycling and its distinguishable particle morphology with respect to the undoped material. Systematic first-principles calculations were performed on undoped, Al or Co single-doped, and Al/Co dual-doped LiMn2O4 to investigate their structural differences at the atomistic level.
