The study objective was to investigate the effect of integrated health management model on the satisfaction among Chinese elderly. Using a randomized controlled trial, 600 people who are 60 and over have signed the informed consent in China were randomly assigned into management and control group. The management group received care integrated individual health management with community health management model in the follow-up 6 months.

Our previous studies have shown that QC can improve the morphological index of the artery, down-regulate the collagen volume fraction in the media and inhibit the transformation of smooth muscle cells. However, the detailed mechanisms underlying its effects require further investigation, which might provide more scientific evidence for the clinical treatment of hypertensive vascular remodeling (VR).

This paper develops an empirical framework to estimate nutrient release from five major sectors, which requires fewer input parameters and produces acceptable accuracy. Sectors included are industrial manufacturing, livestock breeding (industrial and family scale), crop agriculture, household consumption (urban and rural), and atmospheric deposition.

Here, we used a murine challenge model to evaluate the adjuvant activity of GPI-0100, a saponin-derived adjuvant, on influenza subunit vaccine administered via the intranasal or the intrapulmonary route. Balb/c mice were immunized with 1 µg A/PR/8 (H1N1) subunit antigen alone or in combination with varying doses of GPI-0100.

The quick-scanning XAFS (QXAFS) method is achieved at the BL14W1 XAFS beamline at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility based on the EPICS and LabVIEW systems. This is realised by the unprecedented use of LabVIEW's data logging and supervisory control module for communication with EPICS in synchrotron radiation facilities. A fine QXAFS spectrum with an energy range of 1.

In this monodispersed system, the redshift, the broadening, and the absorption tails cannot be solely attributed to electronic coupling between the dots. Instead, mixing of hole states from the quantum dot and surface is proposed to dominate the changes of the interband spectra at the absorption edge.

However, little is known about their roles in the stress responses and the early secretory pathway in Arabidopsis. In this study, Maigo2 (MAG2), which is equivalent to the yeast Tip20p and mammalian Rad50-interacting protein, is found to be required for the responses to salt stress, osmotic stress and abscisic acid in seed germination and vegetative growth, and MAG2-like (MAG2L) is partially redundant with MAG2 in response to environmental stresses.

Methods: The usp45 and beta-galactosidase genes were cloned and inserted into plasmid pMG36e to obtain the recombinant plasmid pMG36e-usp-lacZ. This recombinant plasmid was transformed into both Escherichia coli DH5alpha and L.
A novel molecular probe (P2) sensing polynuclear hydrolyzed aluminum by chelation-enhanced fluorescence was described, which was prepared from 1,1'-(1,4-phenylene)bis(7-methyl-1,3,5-octanetrione) and 2-aminomethylpyridine. P2 showed a strong fluorescence response to Al(III) when excited by the optimized wavelength of 400 nm and the λ(max,em) at 505 nm indicated a hypsochromic shift of 11 nm to that of free P2, but Cu(II) was observed to quench the fluorescence intensity to nearly zero. The P2-Al(III) complex indicated the best fluorescence response at a pH near 7 and there might be a relevance to the amphoteric property of the aluminum hydroxide.

In this paper, we described a novel method for sensitive detection of drug-induced apoptosis by using fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS). The principle of this method is based on the assay of DNA fragmentation in the process of the drug-induced apoptosis.

However, recent experimental and modeling results are questioning traditional roles for molecular layer inhibition in the cerebellum.
Methods And Main Results: Synaptic responses of MLIs and Purkinje cells (PCs), evoked by air-puff stimulation of the ipsilateral whisker pad were recorded from cerebellar cortex Crus II in urethane-anesthetized ICR mice by in vivo whole-cell patch-clamp recording techniques.
An efficient new method was developed to synthesize multisubstituted 4,5-dihydro-1H-azepine derivatives through the gold-catalyzed reaction of two molecules of propargylic esters with one molecule of alkyl azide. It was proposed that vinyl gold carbenoid, in situ generated from propargylic ester through gold-catalyzed 1,2-rearrangement, was trapped by alkyl azide to give vinyl imine intermediate. These, in turn, could undergo a formal [4 + 3] cycloaddition with another molecule of vinyl gold carbenoid to afford the desired azepine product.

The principle of SRSCS is similar to fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS), and it is based on measuring the RLS fluctuations in a small volume due to Brownian motion of single nanoparticles. We first established a highly sensitive SRSCS system.

However, reports that demonstrate their biological role, especially in Arabidopsis, are notably limited. This study examines the functional roles of the Arabidopsis LEA group 3 proteins AtLEA3-3 and AtLEA3-4 in abiotic stress and ABA treatments.

However, GNPs have a tendency to aggregate particularly in the presence of high salts and certain biological molecules such as nucleic acids and proteins. How to improve the stability of GNPs and their bioconjugates in aqueous solution is a critical issue in bioapplications.

With the method of substance flow analysis (SFA), the study provided an analytical framework for phosphorus cycle on civil food production and consumption system that was demonstrated by four life stages-food production, food processing, consumption and waste handling. Furthermore, a case study was carried out in Hefei City, for the year 2008. The SFA results show that the total demand of phosphorus reaches 5 475.

Previously we characterized ubiquitously expressed transcript (UXT)-V2 as a novel transcriptional cofactor to regulate nuclear factor-κB in the nucleus. Here we report that another splicing isoform of UXT, UXT-V1, localizes in cytoplasm and regulates TNF-induced apoptosis.

To overcome this problem, we investigated the function of the heavy chain variable domain of a monoclonal anti-VEGF human IgM antibody derived from the Five-Feature Translocus Mice. We cloned the cDNA of the heavy chain variable domain, which was then inserted into pET28a vector and expressed in Escherichia coli.
