We introduce a new computational framework that utilises Pulse Wave Velocity (PWV) extracted directly from 4D flow MRI (4DMRI) to inform patient-specific compliant computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of a Type-B aortic dissection (TBAD), post-thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR). The thoracic aortic geometry, a 3D inlet velocity profile (IVP) and dynamic outlet boundary conditions are derived from 4DMRI and brachial pressure patient data. A moving boundary method (MBM) is applied to simulate aortic wall displacement.

The aim of this study was to assess whether such a provoked response is co-localized with myocardial dysfunction.
Methods: A group of twenty-six CAD patients with a defined stenosis (quantitative coronary angiography > 50%) underwent a cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) exam prior to revascularization.
Background: The pathophysiology of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction is not well understood, but evidence strongly suggests involvement of microvascular dysfunction. We studied the myocardial oxygenation reserve as a direct marker of coronary vascular function and its relation to myocardial deformation and tissue characteristics by cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR).
Methods: In a dual-center case-control study, patients with heart failure and preserved ejection fraction (>50%) and healthy controls older than 50 years underwent quantitative CMR for ventricular volumes and functional assessment with feature tracking, as well as tissue characterization (T1, T2, extracellular volume).
Cisplatin (cisPt) is an important drug that is used against various cancers, including advanced lung cancer. However, drug resistance is still a major ongoing problem and its investigation is of paramount interest. Here, a high-resolution magic angle spinning (HR-MAS) NMR study is presented deciphering the metabolic profile of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells and metabolic adaptations at different levels of induced cisPt-resistance, as well as in their de-induced counterparts (cells cultivated in absence of cisPt).

Background: The native balanced steady state with free precession (bSSFP) magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) technique has been shown to provide high diagnostic image quality for thoracic aortic disease. The study explores the potential for implementation of a workflow using non-invasive routinely collected medical imaging data and clinical measurements to provide a more detailed insight into local aortic haemodynamics in order to support clinical decision making. Our approach is multi-scale, using a reduced-order model (1D/0D) and an optimization process for the personalization of patient-specific boundary conditions and aortic vessel wall parameters from non-invasive measurements, to inform a more complex model (3D/0D) representing 3D aortic patient-specific anatomy.

Method: An online questionnaire was created using the SurveyMonkey platform targeting radiologists, students and surgeons throughout the German speaking part of Switzerland. A total of 170 people participated in the survey (59 radiologists, 56 surgeons and 55 students).
Objectives: This preclinical study was devised to investigate potential cellular toxicity in human neurons induced by gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) used for contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Neurons modeling a subset of those in the basal ganglia were tested, because the basal ganglia region is 1 of 2 brain regions that displays the greatest T1-dependent signal hyperintensity changes.
